Today neither place had it. Neither did Toys R Us. And I need it for tomorrow.
Any tips on where I might find this game in Calgary?

Maybe Discovery Hut in Chinook.

Anyone have good 2 player recommendations? Want to get the wife involved, so nothing to complicated.

Carcasonne and Lost Cities are some that pop to mind.

Man, I didn't find Carcasonne played well at all as a 2 player game, but it's all over those lists. I should probably give it another shot.

Great 2 player game if you are prepared to attack each other. Very cut-throat.

Yeah I have Twilight Struggle. Played about 8-10 times, most of the time teaching it to someone else. I love it, but I'm still in the process of figuring it out. It is probably a lot more deep than I've been able to go thus far.
My favourite 2-player game right now is Agricola. Probably just because I haven't played anything else in a couple months.

Thanks all, just ordered Lost Cities and Pandemic.
I too saw that Twilight Struggle was number 1 on BGG, but after reading some more it sounds like that would be a bit much. We'll see how these go first...

Not a great game for the wife and I then. She's not that kind of gamer.

I just played Ascending Empires last night and loved it. 3 reasons:
the Starcraft-y theme,
the game mechanics are simple, logical and deep
and player movement is done by flicking pieces (think croquenot) which makes for intense and emotional moments (good and bad).
8/10 easily

Got Bang at Mythgames.
It has a hell of a learning curve, but is quite fun once everyone's on the same page. We played two games, and the first one was pretty much a practice round. Great game for six people.

Played Wasabi a couple weeks ago. Strangely enjoyable and good for the whole family.
I did not expect that.
