Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves.. although it's marvelous to think of what may happen up north, Vancouver still needs to finish the job.

All the talk of another blown year and star players leaving seems really jinxy-pants to me..

Jinxes aren't real but I don't allow myself to enjoy anything until it's certain and done. Van has 2 chances to eliminate these bums, let's hope they care care of business.

If the Canucks come out timid in game six and revert back to playing not to lose, we could very easily see a game 7. If they keep their foot on the gas they can finish them off providing the officials don't get in the way.

MoneyPuck has the Oilers at 69% to lose the series.

If there's a team that'll screw it up, it's the Canucks.

I think we're all just enjoying the afterglow of the Canucks overcoming all those Oiler PPs and that one seriously insane call for a huge win. Oilers have to beat the Canucks twice now. Sure, it can happen. But for this morning, let's enjoy this.

The hilarious part again is that Pickard isn't some goalie they have been developing, or playing due to injuries. He is a legit AHL journeyman they plugged in.

At least with Silovis he is a goalie the Canucks are developing in the minors, and playing due to injury and not their starter being an absolute sieve.

They have to stick it out with this guy now.

I don't know if you can go back to Skinner at all. In 20 career playoff games he's got a 3.49 gaa and a 8.81 svpct.

That's not a small picture either. For some reason, Skinner is the anti Billy Smith. While Smith was a money goalie, Skinner just can't take the pressure.

Do you gamble with it? I don't think you can. I think at this point, you simply have to go with Pickard, who has played decently, but beyond being a journey man, that doesn't have a lot of playoff experience, and is going to be facing enormous pressure playing in a elimination game at home. Has he played 3 games in a row in the last couple of years?

Was last night a choke by the Oilers, yeah sure I'll go there, but its more along the line of Tocchet who's up for the Jack Adam's flexing his coaching muscle last night and Kbobby showing his inexperience in this series.

The Canucks looked like an awesomely coached team last night. The Oilers looked frustrated with their power play and with the Canucks taking away McDavid's speed, and there were no real adjustments.

But to give Edmonton's coach credit, he certainly managed to squeeze maximum sewer juice out of the turd this year, because frankly The Oilers blueline, goaltending and bottom 6 continue to be a weakness, and he has two selfish stars who are loosely familiar with their defencemen, to play defence this year, not well but still.

Now the question is as the noose gets tighter around the Oilers neck, do McDavid and Draisaitl do what they usually do when things aren't working and ignore the coach and play their way while McDavid glares angrily at his team mates?

I vote yes.

My thoughts, The Oilers come out like a house on fire, but can't get the lead, the Canucks score a couple of goals in the second period, on a ridiculously few shots. Knobby makes the change to Skinner, Mcdavid throws a pouty spazz on the bench, and starts hanging out at the blueline. The Oilers score 1 giving the fans hope. Then Lindholm scores on a dump in and the ice is covered in a flurry of Oiler Jersey's. Drasaitl and McDavid isolate themselves on the bench not talking to anyone. Knobby goes down to talk to his stars and they tell him to pound sand. Then McDavid scores on a individual effort. The Oilers empty their net, and the Canucks score the equivalent of a 360 degree tomahawk heart breaking fancy empty net goal to put it away.

The Oilers after the handshake stand at center ice, but the fans are in no mood and boo the crap out of them. McDavid puts his hand on Draisait's shoulder and says "Lets go" leading to terrified fan speculation for the next 5 months. Draisaitl leaves the ice with his middle finger held high, and its glorious.

And that my friends isn't a prediction . . . its a spoiler.

It would have been nice if Lindholm and Zadorov showed up like this for us in 2022.

Oilers problem if they go with Pickard is that it means they have no confidence in the two goalies they have signed for next year. Which is hilarious.

I want this to go to game 7 overtime so one of these fanbases is absolutely sick to their stomach crushed.

Need a couple more games of cheap shots.

Dont care who wins because round 3 will expose what a pretender these dog shart teams really are.

F the Oilers. F the Canucks.

How about this ends next game, and we stop the BS of the Oilers going to a game 7 OT of any series.

Going with Pickard in game 5 already proves that, no?

Oilers loss in game 6 at home on HNIC is way better.

By a lopsided margin. Mcdavid and pissy get into an argument on the bench. Chaos ensues. Media has a meltdown.
