Top two vote getters in the poll got a date with Lucille.

I voted Glen, but before the episode I said to my wife that I thought it would be Abe as I'd changed my mind recently.

Certainly didn't think they'd take out two of the group in this episode.

Caught me off guard for sure. Awesome episode, looking forward to this season.

I sure hope they resolve the Negan/Rick conflict by the end of the season though. Not like when they had the Governor conflict drag into a new season. Maybe that's just me though. It'll be fun when Rick finally gets to take that SOB down. (At least I assume he will get to)

It's how this works, once an episode has aired it's fair game to discuss without spoiler tags. Otherwise the whole thread would just be spoiler tags.
It was a spoiler about another show (GoT), not this one.

I didn't expect both!

Crazy episode, but I think the really long wait (and not that long for me, I just finished season 6 like a month ago) took away the emotional impact, at least for me. Knowing it was someone for sure gave time to come to grips with it and so it wasn't nearly as emotional as it could have been.

If it were me, I would have had this episode be the last episode of last season.

I'm fairly desensitized to most things in these sorts of shows and movies and zombie gore doesn't bother me at all, but when it comes to brutal violence between people like that where someone is consciously doing that to another person and how Negan was actually laughing over it I found to be disturbing on a few levels. Hardly anything happened in the episode aside from them stretching out the death reveals and Negan parading around talking to himself. That was a glacially slow moving episode. Maybe they were trying to give the events weight but I was more just disgusted and hoping for it to be over with sooner. A lot of unnecessarily long parts where basically nothing important was said.

The deaths were executed well but it wasn't a good episode and I'd argue they went a bit far with it, even for the WD. I don't really feel enticed to watch more of the show after that. It's losing a bit of steam for me, though I wasn't the biggest fan to begin with.
I had the same experience. I actually was so disturbed that I felt a bout of anxiety coming on. I changed the channel and I really have no desire to continue watching the episode.

Fan of the show or not, you have to acknowledge how incredibly tense that was. With a setup like that, fans wil be sucked in looking for resolution of conflict with Negan. How the show deals with that will be interesting. Of course I expect they will draw it out, but there is no way to up the tension from here.

Really well acted except for one obvious exception. It's hard to watch Carl.

I liked that they didn't cop out and killed off two likeable characters. The violence didn't bother me as I think it adds to the effect of what these people would have gone through if it was real. Kind of a fresh start and new direction for the show now.

Jacqui (S1 character), she stayed at the CDC when it exploded.

That's the only episode of a show I've ever seen that made me feel like I might puke.

Pee pee pants city indeed.

Wow. Just want to go on record the level of violence was very disturbing and new territory for television.

I couldn't believe what I was watching and how disturbing it was. This wasn't killing for necessity or zombie death. This was Man vs Man destruction. Then domination.

I will think about it and re-evaluate. But the territory covered was very disturbing.

She chose to stay behind and blow up at the CDC in Atlanta.

Well, I called Abraham months ago, didn't know they'd go two instead. That was a little hard to watch, but I think it had to be. They really wanted the viewer to feel the psychological beatdown that Rick was feeling. I think they succeeded.

I felt like it was about on par with the Terminus slaughterhouse scene that kicked off season 5 for "disturbing violence" level. And really only the Glen death -- Abraham's was a bit restrained, but they really made you feel it with Glen.

So will there be a rift between Maggie and Daryl seeing he's kind of the reason Glenn got his head crushed?

When Rick said "they have Daryl" I kinda expected Maggie to say "I don't give a flying #### about Daryl" grab some guns and walk off.

I like the way they did it, I was not happy when they took out Abraham, I thought it was a cop-out not to do Glenn, but they baited me well. The whole episode was good, although extremely graphic for tv.

It would be a waste of time to have a rift between those two. Between Negan and walkers they have plenty to deal with.

Also, I remember they'd said they recorded multiple people talking the bat to the head so it couldn't be leaked. Guess that was true and Rick's flashbacks had everyone taking a bat to the head except Rick.

Rick is not going to stay down, that's obvious. Thats shows you how sick Negan is. He even warns him, try something I'll make you kill Darrell. He wants to mentally torture Rick. So yea, the becoming of Negan would be interesting too.
