You're all wrong. The fires were started by directed energy weapons, used by the big bad gub'mint, to clear the way for 15 minute cities. Gawwwd, don't you guys know anything?

Could be the Jewish space lasers that started the California fires, no?
I wonder if all these wildfires were started by the same country, the same satellite, or the same colour of lasers. Hopefully people had blue roofs. I am stunned at these things being spoken of as fact. It is a sad picture of our society as a whole. Truth is in the eye of who whoever holds our worldview

my purolator driver (who is an awesome guy and we get along great) fully believes the Maui fire was caused by lasers from the sky becuz he saw a video online. i don't get how guy who has a good head on his shoulders and is a fairly smart guy can get sucked down into the rabbit holes. i will say this - it makes for some great conversation between us when he's doing deliveries! ha!
with most of the kelowna and west kelowna evac orders being taken off and people are returning home, it's amazing to see how close the fire came to wiping out entire neighbourhoods - with the burned trees and vegetation being right at people's back yards. the fire fighters did an amazing job.
this video is from the west kelowna fire above rose valley...
**the fire burned thru so fast that only one side of the tree trunks are burned!

Will be getting back home today after three weeks of camping and trying to avoid the awful smoke and heat. MoStly, it followed us through southern AB and SK up to Saskatoon and back. Meanwhile it turned lovely at home in the pat week. Air Quality has been great and blue skies if I can believe my cameras.
No doubt. We will be ash-coated still and dry dry dry as a popcorn fart...no rain yet and none in sight really. Just keep hoping.

It's not as dry as before for sure as dew is falling almost every night. Most mornings my grass is wet even though I didn't use the sprinklers
27mm of rain in the North Okanagan in the last few days....with about 20mm of it yesterday. Relief. Finally. Our forests, ground cover and lakes needed this badly. More on the way apparently.
Campfire ban is removed in Kamloops FD as of tomorrow noon.

Scary and reminiscent, hopefully this one gets contained.

A wildfire near Fort McMurray, Alta., more than tripled in size overnight — but fire officials are hopeful it won't spread as much Sunday, nor approach the northern Alberta city.
The fire, burning about 16 kilometres southwest of the city, covered about 5,500 hectares as of 10:45 a.m. MT Sunday, according to the Alberta Wildfire status dashboard. On Saturday morning, it was about 1,500 hectares in size.
In BC, some in Fort Nelson have been ordered to evacuate.

Thousands of people are out of their homes in the northeast B.C. community of Fort Nelson, and the Fort Nelson First Nation, as an out-of-control wildfire burns within kilometres of the town.
