that was our wedding song. I got to pick one thing
Oh hey, I didn't realize we were posting our wedding songs now. Here's mine:
I knew I made the right choice in picking my wife when I played this song for her as a potential wedding song. Not only did she NOT balk at it in any way, she immediately fell in love with it as "our song". I knew she was rare and special right at that moment.

I'm posting this partially for the song, which is a fun one from Peter, Bjorn, and John, but very much because of the video following the Yoyogi Park Gangsters. I've never wanted to be part of a group so much in my life. It just looks fun.

Two videos that prove how ####ing cool Elvis Costello and the Attractions are, and also how he has no bones or joints in his ankles. I assume it's all putty down there.

Funny timing. I was just reading she went to the high school my kids are at now. As did Richard Kelly, and apparently Donnie Darko was supposed to take place in our suburban area. I went down that rabbit hole because a starring actor in the new mean girls movie also went to their school, and those two were the only other famous alumni I recognized.
Also jumped in to post that this seems like a pretty nice feel good story.
I found a turntable at the Buy & Sell store on boxing week in Dec. I went on Amazon and bought the album. I don't care if Beavis thought Winger wasn't cool. They have an awesome version of Purple Haze and Reb Beach's melodic pro-rock solos were unique.
Woah! The youtube algorithm also popped this into my feed this past week. I had no idea. I thought she was just the vapid pop singer of "Voices Carry". I went out and bought the 1986 album that "What About Us" is on last weekend. It's all girly acoustic songs except this single that kicks. I searched on YouTube and Til Tuesday was pretty awesome in the early 80s as a dark new wave, bass driven band that could fit any indie scene today. Sadly a lot of these songs were never recorded and released on any album from what I can tell.

How good were Jellyfish? They should have been huge.
Goddam you. I've lost the last week or so of my life to diving down the rabbit hole of this band. It is truly astounding how they did not land an audience. Awful timing. They came out in the 90s when grunge was huge. All anyone wanted was slow, plodding, grinding guitars and heavy lyrics/themes. A band that dealt in melody and whimsicality never stood a chance.
Anyway, here's a ####ing great song of theirs. Enjoy. I hear a lot of influence from the Beach Boys "Pet Sounds" on this one.
