We had nothing severe last night in Saddleridge. Rain and some thunder, but nothing that sounded super close and no hail.

I'm in Tuscany and that is probably the hardest it has rained/hailed (pea size) in a very long time in our neighborhood. And for a long time too. I ended up sticking the nose of my truck into the garage as far as I could for hail protection in case it got bad. Downside is I could not open my door so I was sitting outside for the storm, the sound was deafening.

I have not seen it come down that hard since I worked in Oklahoma in the 90's. No damage to the house other than plants in the back yard.

My daughter was at her friends in Royal Oak, just across Crowchild. They got nothing.

It was a solid 3 hours of heavy downpour where I am, the playground behind me was a lake last night.

Walking next to the Confederation golf course and through St. Francis school yard at about noon today, I thought I was going to lose a shoe as I trudged though thoroughly waterlogged grass.

If we get another rainstorm this weekend, I don't know where the water is going to go.

“ Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.”

In Calgary, that is any time the daytime high is 29+ with a nighttime low of 14+ (which, according to Environment Canada, are the highs and lows today and tomorrow).

I know we discussed it last year ad nauseum and even just a couple posts ago, but c'mon, heat warning still? The EC criteria are no where close to still being triggered

I don't know why heat warnings bother people so much.
