The team really has been hitting its stride the past week. And it's not like they've been blowing their opponents out of the water with offense, it's been climbing back from behind with timely hits and smart base running. Hanley is doing better at the plate than I've ever seen from him.

The rotation still makes me nervous, but the bullpen has been unreal of late.

Freddie Freeman has been tearing it up! He would be a legit MVP canadiate if he was on a playoff contender .

The Jays slump is nothing compared to the Giants.

The Giants are collapsing in a way that baseball has never seen
You knew this. But it’s still stunning to see the numbers

Just noticed that D'Arnaud has sure fallen flat on his face this season.

Weird. He looked poised to break out but that hasn't happened.

Hard to believe it's already been almost 4 years since that trade.

Gary Sanchez has 19 home runs in first 45 games. That's pretty good.

Did they anticipate him being this good? Where was he drafted? Or did he just come out of nowhere?

The Dodgers Game is 8-2. Vin Scully is teaching Japanese now. How to say Good Morning? Just say Ohio!

He already has more home runs than everybody on the Braves not named Freeman.

Three-way tie in the NL wild card race. All three lost last night - NYM, STL and SF.

So, Mariners catcher Steve Clevenger might be looking for a new home. The Mariners are looking at their options following his idiotic tweets today.

Quote:
"Black people beating whites when a thug got shot holding a gun by a black officer haha [stuff] cracks me up. Keep kneeling for the Anthem!" wrote Clevenger, who hasn't played for the Mariners since late June after suffering a broken hand and a flexor strain in his right elbow.

"[Black Lives Matter] is pathetic once again! Obama you are pathetic once again! Everyone involved should be locked behind bars like animals!"
Quote:
The Mariners tweeted a statement from Dipoto in response to Clevenger's tweets.

"The Seattle Mariners are very disappointed at the tweets posted on Steve Clevenger's account. While he is certainly free to express himself, his tweets do not in any way represent the opinions of the Seattle Mariners," Dipoto said. "We strongly disagree with the language and tone of his comments.

"We are currently examining all internal options that are available to us as we determine appropriate next steps. We will have no further comment at this time."

Miami Marlins ace Jose Fernandez was killed in a boating accident in Florida early Sunday morning.

The Marlins announced that Sunday's game against the Atlanta Braves was canceled.
