There's a prototype that's generally more successful at this kind of hockey and the Flames should keep this in mind with their draft picks.
Probably want to limit the slight skilled player ratio if you're building up a core from scratch.
That's why a pick like Honzek made sense at the time and still does if he can get healthier and develop a little mean streak.

I think Pospisil could thrive in the playoffs.

I hate both teams, I tried to cheer for Vancouver and it felt gross. Their team has less dbags than past iterations but still yuck. Hope they continue to beat each other up. This is a lose/lose series. Go Stars

I’m cheering for an entertaining series, and so far, this one has definitely lived up to the hype. Really, all four of the series this round have at least somewhat delivered.

Nothing would be more entertaining than the Oilers losing - as nature intended.

Edit - The Pettersson deal was not an over pay. It wasn't an amazing deal. It's what you pay for a young ppg center. Calling a long term deal bad before the deal even starts is some silly ####. Also, Supermatt is a jerk for making me respond to a post I didn't want to see. Mean ol' jerk.
|
No, what is some silly #### is suggesting you can't dislike a deal at the time of signing. Of course you can.

I don't even notice the jersey's of whoever is playing the Oilers. Cheering against the Oilers is as second nature as breathing.

Will be interesting to see if the Canucks show up next game. They’ve been embarrassing the last 4 periods.
I think the next game is do or die for them.

Some FAQs for clarity:
Q: What if they were playing the oppressive dictators of history all-world, all-star team?
A: Yes.
Q: How about against an alien ice-hockey team in a game to determine the fate of humanity?
A: It's been a good run.

You have one job tonight, Canucks. Edmonton is no good. Stop f***ing around and take care of business already.

Depends on definition of gritty i guess. He fights for pucks along boards and wins and lays hits occasionally. That's gritty given the role. Opposite of what #40 is doing.

Lindholm centering #40 is smart. I could see this helping. Does that leave Garland without Lindholm?

Aren't those the lines they tried right after the trade?

Yeah, as far as I know this is the first time they've moved Pettersson to Lindholm's wing.
Edit: These were his line placements in the regular season. Turns out he did center with Pettersson on his left, but that combo had the least time together of all of his deployments.
(in order of total minutes played as a line)
Hoglander-Pettersson-Lindholm
Garland-Lindholm-Podkolzin
Joshua-Lindholm-Garland
Lafferty-Lindholm-Mikheyev
Lindholm-Miller-Boeser
Bains-Lindholm-Garland
Pettersson-Lindholm-Mikheyev

Sounds like the Canuck jerseys that were put on to the Laughing Men statues at English Bay were mysteriously set aflame after the Game 4 Canucks loss.
