Nemisz is injured, didn't play last night.

I'm not sure what the injury is.

It's now 4-1 for Texas in the second. Shantz hasn't been great. The Heat have also signed Bowers to a PTO.

Quote:
CEDAR PARK TX– The Abbotsford Heat have signed forward Justin Bowers of the Allan Americans from the Central Hockey League.
For more info and a profile of Bower please visit http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p....php?pid=73181
Bowers has played a total of 27 games in the AHL for the Lake Erie Monsters and Quad City Flames, racking up five goals and four assists to make nine points.

The Heat, the AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, have games Friday and Saturday against the Texas Stars at the Cedar Park Center and one Monday against the Houston Aeros at the Toyota Center.

i'm sure it doesn't help that the 2 offensive talents on the team are up on the big club.

of course, we lack any real depth at the skilled forward position in the prospect pool. with irving being down, and what we've seen from keetley, mcbackup, and krahn, i'm not really confident the goalie after kipper is in the system either.

Hopefully some of the D prospects are going to shape into NHL quality players.....

Irving is good. The team just sucks.

Anyone know what is up with Pelech? I assume he is injured. Hasn't played in a game for quite awhile.

Fan960 had D Sutter on before the Blues game he said Pelech is hurt sounded like its a long term injury.

Figured this thread needed an update.
Here's the updated stats for recent years' Draft picks (those who aren't in Abbotsford)

2009 Draft:
Tim Erixon - Skelleftea HC (SEL) 38 GP, 7 G, 2 A, 36 PIM
Ryan Howse - Chilliwack (WHL) 56 GP, 37 G, 21 A, 19 PIM
Henrik Bjorklund - Farjestads (SEL) 19 GP, 1 G, 3 A, 4 PIM
Spencer Bennett - Portland (WHL) 56 GP, 15 G, 18 A, 47 PIM
Gaelan Patterson - Saskatoon (WHL) 54 GP, 18 G, 27 A, 21 PIM

2008 Draft:
Greg Nemisz - Windsor (OHL) 45 GP, 29 G, 31 A, 46 PIM
Mitch Wahl - Spokane (WHL) 55 GP, 24 G, 43 A, 80 PIM
Lance Bouma - Vancouver (WHL) 56 GP, 14 G, 29 A, 132 PIM
Nick Larson - Notre Dame (NCAA) 29 GP, 6 G, 4 A, 41 PIM
TJ Brodie - Saginaw / Barrie (OHL) 51 GP, 5 G, 45 A, 44 PIM
Alexander Deilert - Djurgardens (SEL) 19 GP, 0 G, 1 A, 0 PIM

2007/2006 Draft:
CJ Severyn - Ohio State (NCAA) 27 GP, 7 G, 4 A, 24 PIM
Aaron Marvin - St. Cloud State (NCAA) 29 GP, 4 G, 6 A, 49 PIM

Unfortunately I couldn't find any stats on Ortio. As well, I'm not sure if Marvin or Severyn are signed...
I haven't watched any players this year so I can't comment on their play.

Also, here's Erixon's Skelleftea HC bio:
http://www.skellefteaaik.se/spelartr....asp?number=44

Looks like he's getting ~18 min a game, with 4 PPG and a -6

And I've found Ortio's stats (and learned a little Finnish in the process):

10 GP 5-4-0 2.96 GAA .919 SV% with Tuto of Mestis
7 GP 3-2-0 2.12 GAA .932 SV% with Suomi U-20

2 assists for Nemisz as Windsor loses big to Saginaw, 7-2. The shot differential here looked insane - Pasquale made 61 saves.

Cam Cunning is now on the 1st line along with Jaffray and Stuart. Playfair commented on the radio that he's one of the only players on the team that has actually stepped his game up to get the Heat over their slump.

Also, he's got the most amazing accuracy.

Good thing that Heat management picked up some players and some loaners. The team was brutal.
