I haven't seen him play but his jump in production after being moved to play with a guy like Cristall would be very concerning for me.
Perhaps he doesn't play on his line and is doing this all on his own, but nervous that he didn't do anything impressive before this and then all of sudden jumps up when playing with a guy that would make anyone look good.
Based on the last 2 starting lineups it looks like he does have his own line.
I'd assume he gets pp time with Cristall though.
Also if you're concerned about his production jumping from playing with Cristall (your words), but haven't actually seen him play. Maybe watch a game to see him play???

Just travel 8 hours to see a random guy play?
Seems a little extreme response to raising what should be a legitimate concern that would be looked at by anyone watching him. Also have people here who have seen him and can address those concerns as well.

I wouldn't be that concerned.
Last year in his D-1 year, he played on a really deep team and wasn't fully utilized. The fact he took up a notch in his draft year getting to play up the line-up is normal and expected for a good player like him.

So you are saying that rather than ask it Cristall is playing a role in his jump in production in a thread where people are talking about it, I should watch games for a team that I have no interest in?

I am not sure it is that normal to see this jump, but if he is playing on his own line as mentioned above it would appear that he isn't just benefitting from the chance created by Cristall and is able to produce on his own.

Again seems like an extreme reaction.
Nope didn't say that at all.
What I'm saying is if you're concerned about Tij's game and whether or not he should be drafted that high, watch a game for yourself to see how good he is.
Make an informed opinion instead of doom posting.

Doom posting???? LOL
What is doom posting about asking if he relies on Cristall or not? And in the hour since I originally posted my concerns have already been lessened. Seems much easier to ask that question here rather than spend money and travel hours to get the same information about a guy I have some, not great interest in.
I commend your patience and reason bzoo02, spurs responses on this exchange have been nothing but hilarious. He’s not wrong Spurs, if you’re going to be so impassioned to state absolutes about a player you should at the very least be well informed around forming that opinion no? The posters saying otherwise to your stance on Tij and where he should get picked are at least steeping their stance and opinions on the player through actual live viewings or some forms of eye test on the player which I can appreciate a heck of a lot more.

LOL
What a load of ####.
His responses have been ridiculous. I raised what is a fairly basic question that I imagine every NHL team, scout and GM have evaluated themselves.
There is no absolutes mentioned in any of posts, let alone impassioned feel free to point that out anywhere, I'll save you the time you can't.
Where did I say where he should be picked? How can there be people saying otherwise when I haven't stated anything?
What is my stance on Tij? I simply asked a question

The extreme reaction is, instead of asking at all, saying it’s “very concerning”.
Could you imagine a future where Tij and Joe are both Flames ? Joe is a pretty good player himself it seems. The Iginla brothers ! A man can dream. Joe is 15 and already 5'10 and 160 lbs.
