Sinner breaks to take set 3 6-4. Meddy for the first time tonight is looking tired.

Meddy again is unable to make a 2-0 set lead in the final stick, but he seems way less perturbed about it this time around.
Could this turn out to be the Year of the Carrot?

Heck of a comeback by Sinner overnight, you could tell late in the 2nd set that he was playing a lot better, the only question was would Meddy's level fall enough for him to take advantage. The Medvedev serve was the first thing to drop as the legs had nothing left which is very understandable.

I'm very happy for Sinner he is a great young player and seems like a good guy. I remember watching him against Nadal at the French Open when he was like 18/19 and he played very well given the challenge, I always thought he could win a Slam one day. Will Sinner and Alcaraz be like Federer and Hewitt where Hewitt got the earlier success but Federer went on to have the much better career?
I'm also completely gutted for Medvedev, this happening again isn't fair for another one of the good guys on tour. I'm happy he at least won 1 Slam but really hoping he can win at least one more.

He needs to be much more efficient (i.e. aggressive) earlier on in the grand slam tourneys and not spend as much time on court in the earlier rounds. He tried to make the adjustments last night (standing much closer on return, hitting harder etc.) and it worked for the first two sets. Jannik did raise his level and Meddy's level dropped due to running out of gas.

Good. Not a big fan of any of these players. I don't dislike Medvedev but at times he can be a bit of a whiner and as with Zverev I don't find his brand of tennis overly appealing to watch.

From the introduction of the ATP rankings in 1973, there has always been at least one man in the top 10 with a one-handed backhand. Tsitsipas is the only guy in the top 10 with a one handed backhand and he is just barely hanging on at #10 this morning.

the level of the four semi-finalists at AO and their collective ability to play simultaneous offense and defense from both wings...the 1HBH is deader than a doorknob. It was a good run.

I'm a stubborn old man set in my ways so I'm sticking with my 1HBH. The funny thing is I started out using a two-handed backhand (trying to emulate Bjorn Borg), but I switched because the 1HBH just felt better and led to better results for my tennis.

After tennis elbow I had to say goodby to the one handed backhand. My two hander is getting better and I can understand why it's popular as footwork and timing aren't as critical. I really notice that on the occasion I decide to hit with the one hander for old time sake. It will be a sad day when there are no more one handed backhands on the tour as it's the most graceful shot in tennis.

Benoit Paire backed by a raucous crowd in Montpellier rallies to defeat Andy Murray 2-6 7-6 6-3. It's starting to look like the end for Andy, unfortunately, his body continues to let him down (noticeably limping late in the match today).

In case you were wondering, Carson Branstine is still doing the tennis thing. Like Bianca, she's had to deal with a long list of injuries, but she's been doing pretty well at some smaller ITF tourneys including winning a event this past weekend.

Shapo breaks to start the match (at love as well). Nice start.
Edit: No issue consolidating the break - He is wearing some KT tape on his left knee, but moving okay thus far.

Who is this guy, not overhitting, moving the ball nicely around the court and forcing his opponent into errors? Why can't he play like this all the time?
Edit: Shapo takes the opening set 6-1 in 22 minutes.

Shapo takes it 6-1 6-3 and records his first win since Wimbledon last year.
