^We had a couple of chairs like that at the cabin when I was a kid; not a new design or anything but it was handy.

Wish they had something like this for vegetable slicers...
That's incredible actually, would have been nice in my shop class in grade 8. As a 14 year old we were given blowtorches, bandsaws, tablesaws and nail guns with little to no safety instructions. Several kids got hurt pretty bad, I wonder if they still have classes like that.

The bandsaws aren't so bad. The router tables were scary.
I hate table saws though. Kickback scares the crap out of me. I can keep my fingers out of the way of the blade without any fancy brakes, but can't do anything about a piece of wood getting flung at your face.
It would probably be expensive in a junior high/high school shop class. The stupid kids would be "testing" it all the time. That looks like a "one-and-done" situation and the safeguard and blade would need to be replaced each time.
Location: Close enough to make a beer run during a TV timeout
Exp:
A webcam placed overhead would stop anybody from "testing" it.
A friend's husband teaches shop class and has one in his classroom. He says he figures it costs $200 in total to fix the saw afterwards. He has however seen it save a few kids' fingers in the time he has had it. The kids all know they have to pay $200 if they intentionally trigger the device. So far there has been one instance of intentionally triggering it, and "a couple" of times where it was triggered by accident.

Anybody have one of these Skywalkers? This is the cheapest I've seen them at $271 (the price fluctuates like mad). In Calgary, they're $650. There are a bunch of different brands, but from what I've read they're all made by the exact same company. Thinking of pulling the trigger.

Should have posted this a long time ago, but better late than never (wasn't sure if this should go in here or suferguy's thread, if he wants it moved I'll move it).
Had surferguy do a reclaimed wood picture frame for me for a Denali Park map I picked up a few months ago for my hobby room. Finally got the picture in it!
It's not very square though, you'd swear the wood came from an old barn.

Tell me you have a riding lawn mower in your party garage next to the Rascal and the longboard. Bonavista lawns are pretty big... Almost justifiable.
And what's wrong with having fun, anyway? Looks like a pretty neat contraption.
Hah, I probably have the smallest property in the community, so no need for a riding lawn mower.
I did miss my chance to buy the Skywalker at that great price. I went to purchase it that night (like 12 hours after I first saw it for $271) and it was up to $450. Right now it's $350. I'll just keep checking back until it's $270ish again and then hit the button. Didn't realize Amazon prices could bounce around so quickly within a single day, but there you have it.
Those actually look pretty interesting. I've been looking at the JayBirds X2 bluetooth earbuds which cost more than these and have somewhat less functionality. If I can't find a good sale on those I may just give these a shot.
At that price point though the only real motivation to buy it would be in the hope it allows you to access beers you wouldn't otherwise be able to get locally. There's no savings over just buying a six pack from your local store.
If they do well though and keep expanding their list of breweries I can totally see how it'd be worth it in the long run. I'd love to try some Russian River stuff for example.
It’s the HotTug. This innovative device you see in the pictures is a combination of a hot tub and a motorized boat; a hot tub boat!
