Listening to Alice In Chains new CD, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here. Once through, I don't think it is as good as the last one.
However, I distinctly remember being absolutely pissed off when I bought Dirt after the first listen. A week later I was talking about it being my favorite album (possibly) of all time. Don't see that happening here, but I might wind up liking it better than I do now. As an Alice In Chains fan, though, I will eat it up.
Seen a lot of Daft Punk and Vampire Weekend talk. I've heard "Ya Hey" a number of times now and find it to be, quite possibly, the second most annoying song of all time...right behind Rhianna's Umbrella song. Good grief, is the point to make music or just to be so different that everyone loves you because you make them think they are cool? And what's with the song title, trying to capitalize on the success of The Lumineers' "Ho Hey"? I'll admit, I haven't heard much more but I'm not sure I want to after hearing that abomination.
Daft Punk...just not a fan of dance music. I like instruments too much. I get why its popular, it is somewhat catchy. Have heard Doing it Right a few times. Meh.
Yes, I realize I am the guy that just admited to listening to the new Alice In Chains record so no need to go there. Generally I like a lot of the new stuff that gets posted in here by Trouty and macker, but can't get behind these two.
Anybody pick up Kodaline? Really enjoyed the two tracks from that CD I heard this week on Sirius.
