Anyone in the Lower Mainland they are still available at the EB Games in Lougheed Mall. 3 pre-orders while I was in the store.

Clicked on the amazon link and it was still available on Prime. Red/Blue version only though. It's not actually different other than colour, is it? Same specs and everything?
Not sure I'll keep it. Actually didn't have a whole lot of interest in it. Not sure if that'll change when the console actually comes out and I can't find one then.
Although if the Zelda game isn't going to be any different than the Wii U version I'll likely pass on this.

This is gonna sound all high and mighty here...but please, don't buy one just to scalp it. The less people who do this, the more likely those who actually want to use the system will get one.

Yay for best buy! I wouldn't even be mad if I had to wait for March 31. Would give me time to beat Horizon: Zero Dawn first.
And to put the price in perspective, this is the fourth cheapest launch price in history once you account for inflation.

The price of the console/tablet is ok but not the greatest. You can buy a more powerful Xbox One S with a game included for $375 right now. The price of the accessories are way too high in US or CDN dollars. Why does the pro controller cost $20-25 CDN more than a PS4/Xbox controller?

If Zelda was not a launch title (Wii U Version aside) I probably pass, but I wanna play this thing day 1 on the better console.

It's only $299 in real dollars. Not this worthless Canadian funny money stuff.

People still get caught up in console specs? Buy a gaming computer for the measuring contest boys, any console is behind no matter what. Nintendo is all about the content and exclusives.

If anybody is still looking I just left EB on 130th and the lady said they still had "under 20" switch consoles available for pre order. Was not busy.

A little too expensive for me, but the idea of a portable virtual console with the pro controller is mighty cool. Maybe in a couple years when they're a bit cheaper.
On KindaFunny last night their resident Nintendo fanboy was pretty devastated that a lot of the games are just ports. This morning though when he tried them, he seemed more optimistic.

By the time I got there, they were down to around 10. They expect to run out of their current allotment of stock today.
I put a pre-order in there and will cancel the Best Buy one because Best Buy said they were out of Zelda. Would rather just do it all in one shot.

What content? The same games they had on past Nintendo systems, with small changes and slightly improved graphics? Specs isn't everything but if you want good 3rd party support you need higher end specs. Most of the 3rd party games will be 5 year old ports. I'm sure triple AAA game companies would love to have their games on the switch, but the Switch simply won't be able to support most of them.
Wii U probably had 2 or 3 games I really would want to play but I'm not buying a console for 3 games. The Switch needs to be a success or they might be done making consoles. Might as well make their games for Playstation and Xbox.

One positive is that "Switch" has a strong, memorable brand.
At least they didn't call it something like 'The Wii DS'.
