I don’t understand why so many CPers are keen in Tij Iginla. Aren’t Glory Days and nepotism the Oilers way? I can’t imagine a worse environment for a prospect to develop in than a city where his dad is an exec and a hockey legend.
Let him forge his own career out of the limelight, and let Conroy and his scouts select the BPA.

If NJ picks 10-12, I really doubt they are trading that pick.

At 6th overall, I don't think I'd want us to draft Tij, but I would have no problem at 10th overall and very much think he would be BPA in that spot.
With that said, I don't know if any of that is in Tij's best interests.

Higher than 10th? Hopefully Catton or Helenius.
10th or later? Tij without question.

Flames offer Andersson + 50% retained Markstrom for 10th/11th overall + Casey. Who say no?

As in, if the Flames are 14th and Devils are 10th and have dibs on Iggy Jr, they might leverage that in a trade scenario that could also involve a goaltender swap.
At least I assume that that's what was meant by calling them high potential trade partners.

Some sources (posted by others, not me) say that he would be ecstatic to play for the Flames.
I wouldn’t be surprised either way; if they draft him, I’m sure it would have be determined beforehand he would wear the C loudly and proudly. Let’s not make assumptions here

Seems to me he would be the BPA though, not sure I follow here.

D: Silayev, Levshunov, Dickinson, Parekh, Yakemchuk, Buium
F: Celebrini, Lindstrom, Demidov, Catton.
That's the potential 10 for me.
Iginla, Helenius, Eiserman could be in the top 10 and displace someone else.
I have a feeling Eiserman will tumble.

We won't get up to 6th. I think 8th at the highest unless we win lottery.
But agreed, there are others to take probably even at 8.
I think Helenius would be tough to pass on if hes available.

Not that I know much about these players but from what I have read so far, I’m less excited about Helenius. Sounds like his offensive potential is considered limited at this point. Would prefer Catton or Iginla over him. Always go with BPA but I would really like to shoot for a player with high offensive upside rather than the safe pick.

How much center has Tij played this season? I see some websites list him as a C and some as a LW

The defenceman look great in this draft, but we have also not brought in any young forward prospects in any trade so far. We have brought in defenceman. I wonder if they target a forward in the draft, but it should always be BPA.

My dad doesn't watch the draft but says he's going to this year because of the Flames and Tij.
It gets people excited, although, I can't say I disagree with you.

Call me crazy, but because of the name and relative production alone I am taking Tij 4th out of forwards. Catton and Helenius to me aren't good enough to justify missing out on another Iginla.
Celebrini, Demidov, and Lindstrom have it ahead. Personally I would be sweating about Eiserman too. His goal scoring ability is absolutely hard to overstate here. That kid puts the puck in the net.

Helenius isnt flashy. But if you compare his U20 and Liiga numbers to Aho at the same age, he's a fair bit above him.
