Can anyone photoshop a picture of Katz's head on Gretzky's body.

"The Great Katzky."

I would have to believe this was a nickname he gave himself at some point.

I've been here for 7+ years. As a runner, I don't mind the river valley and the trails. Other than that... Too far from the mountains for my liking, no Chinooks to warm up the winters, godless heathen sports teams...

I have never understood how people think this. I can think of lots of prettier cities.

But but ... Coast! and . . . Mountains!! and . . . Stanley Park! . . . and, Granville Island? haha . . .

In all seriousness, I don't deny it's a pretty city, but pretty is in the eye of the beholder. I find other urban metropolis' way more pretty/interesting than Vancouver. I think many would agree.

It's just terrible design to build something that doesn't fit the surroundings. Marble and sleek lines in a prairie setting seems dumb. Doesn't have to be hay bails but something a little more in keeping.

You want them to build a giant dumpster with old tires for columns?

Vancouver is a remarkably unbeautiful city redeemed by one of the most spectacularly beautiful natural settings on earth. The only strikingly beautiful area in the city itself is Stanley Park, and that's only because they didn't build on it.

Can you name 5 cities in North America that are nicer than Vancouver?

It's a beautiful place with lots to do and amazing cuisine, but as another poster previously mentioned I would never want to live there because of the people.

The hypocrisy and pretentiousness around that city is palpable. The entitled attitude of Canuck fans starts to make a lot of sense the more time you spend in Van. Gives San Francisco a run for their money.

The residential area just over the bridge from downtown is pretty nice.

Does the rank without McDavid also take out the best player on each team? Because if not, like most advanced stats, this is pretty useless.

I think it just shows that when McDavid is on the ice - the Oilers as a team are elite.

When McDavid is off the ice the Oilers as a team are a lottery team.

Not sure you need advanced stats to know that though.

I don't think anyone needed stats to show that. Anyone that has watched any games they have played can see they still are not a well built team.

So subjective. Of places I've been (and obviously I haven't been everywhere in each city):

Quebec City
San Francisco
Halifax
Victoria
Montreal (well Old Montreal anyway)
Galveston
Kingston

I'm not sure it shows "elite" with McDavid. Elite offensively perhaps, still decidedly below average defensively.

No question that without McD though, the team is a lottery team and quite likely worst overall yet again.

More in keeping with Edmonton?
