You can never be too sure when arguing guns.

People on both sides will make up ridiculous things to prove their point more than any other debate methinks.

If any hardcore American conservatives actually had the chance to meet the founding fathers, or Reagan, or Jesus, and talk about their beliefs they'd probably disown them. Like that one Republican did with the Pope

I've asked a few self proclaimed "2nd amendment" guys about "thou shalt not kill" and how the Christian new testament doesn't say killing in any manner is OK. Granted, killing is allowed in some instances in the old testament, but Christians are supposed to believe that Jesus' teachings trump Moses'. Jesus says killing is a no-no.

Inevitably, they stammer and change the question to protection yada yada yada. They believe in Christianity only when it's convenient to them.

GD.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/06/us/ore...sts/index.html

Online posts linked to Laurel Harper, the mother of the gunman, are limited and incomplete, but they seem to indicate two things: that her son, Chris Harper-Mercer, had a developmental disorder, and that the family had a familiarity with firearms and gun laws.

The postings, first reported by the New York Times, make references to Harper having a son who has a disorder on the autism spectrum and of the family having strong pro-gun views.

In response to a question posted on Yahoo! Answers three years ago, the account linked to Harper complains about "lame states" that consider a loaded magazine inside the home the same as having a loaded gun.

"I keep all my mags full. I keep two full mags in my Glock case. And the ARs & AKs all have loaded mags. No one will be 'dropping' by my house uninvited without (acknowledgment)," the user Tweety Bird wrote.

Sadly these type of child shootings happen far more than mass shootings, nothing will happen to the stupid parents because there's no laws to lock up your weapons and the kid who shot her will probably say he didn't think it was loaded or he was just trying to scare her and it will become an "accident"

Sickening.

http://www.salon.com/2015/10/07/good...d_shoplifters/

The 47-year-old woman had a concealed carry permit, and — clearly — some good sense to go with it

According to authorities, the woman witnessed a man exiting the Home Depot while being followed by loss prevention officers. The man attempted to flee in a small, dark sport utility vehicle, at which point the woman pulled out her concealed 9mm handgun and opened fire in the Home Depot parking lot.

She fired repeatedly, and police believe one of the bullets struck and flattened the SUV’s tire — but the suspects, described as two males in their 40s, one white and one black, still escaped. The woman is said to be cooperating with police, who are still deciding whether to charge her for shooting up a Home Depot parking lot to stop a suspected shoplifter.

Not sure why discharging the gun was necessary.

Actually, not sure why packing at Home Depot was necessary either.

Wait what?

She fired probably 6 bullets and one hit the tire, where'd the other rounds go.

I'm glad the story didn't read that she killed 5 innocent bystanders and one tire but the shoplifters got away.

Sooooo Stupid, and these are the people that they want to have armed to prevent things like theatre shootings.

I can see that headline, hero kills shooter in theatre "Killer hit 10, 10 people with pistols got him after hitting 30"

So dumb.

40 shots rang out
40 people fell

Still deciding? Why wouldn't they charge her? That is ridiculous.

Shooting off multiple rounds at human beings = attempted murder. I don't see any way around that. Unless of course the NRA is meddling.
