Neither the Jets or Oilers will be in the playoffs.

Seems like the love for Russell " the savior" is wearing off for Oil fans...

"He's a great shot blocker, compete's hard and skates well, but man does he ever give up the blue line easy and really hasn't been moving the puck very well lately."

There's the Russell we all know and love.

It's not like the Oilers can pay market rate for talent.

The organization and city are undesirable. Every payment for their legit NHLers is an overpayment.

Not that I expect McDavid to do anything but flee at the first opportunity. Any rational player would.

Ha, of course the only way the Oilers can win a close game is when the opposition scores on themselves.

Makes sense. Poor Jets.

Omg! It's an Oiler fan outside of his cave. Such a rare sight these days.

Imagine the schadenfraude of HF Oilers if McDavid isn´t signed on the first day of elegibility or if it drags out over next year? If we thought our reactions and the media pressure for Johnny were over the top, imagine for McMuffin

Oilers fans on hf after the win: "Wahhhh - Connor didn't get a point on the ENG". Some were saying he was "robbed" of a point. They desperately want him to win the Art Ross (not thinking about contract negotiations I guess).

He's getting close to the max no matter what. The real question it whether they can buy UFA years from him or if he becomes a UFA at 25.

Was just looking at the Oilers stats. Patrik Laine now has as many goals as an Oiler as Jesse Puljujarvi. An embarrassment of riches on that team...

What's the max? Does he demand to be the highest player in the league?

Question and my apologises if it has already been addressed in this thread and I couldn't find it but who is McDavid's agent/firm he deals with? And what is said agent/firms experience with star players in the past? Just curious what we might be in for with McDavid given his agents past experiences - Thanks in advance!

I think the maximum allowed is 20% of the salary cap, so about $14 million per season.

I don't know if he will get that, but I wouldn't be surprised if he goes to RFA and they let the market decide. Some other team out there would for sure offer in the $9 to $10 million range.

Oilers needed the Jets to win it for them.

Adam Larrson is playing pretty terrible right now too. Had a beautiful giveaway on the Jets 2nd goal.

I am always happy for a player that fits in with his new team. That is a big move for a young fella. Luckily, he slid right into Oiler's hockey.
