More than that, this was literally the inverse of game 1, McDavid even said afterwards that the reason they didn't get a shot for roughly 20 minutes of game time was that they were trying to protect the lead. It's just that their goalie couldn't hack it, and Silovs (with help from the Canucks defense in the middle of the ice) could.
Seriously, the high danger chances at 5v5 in that game were 7-6 Oilers. That's not that lopsided.

Completely delusional. Wow.

The disrespect to the canucks with the oil as favourites was the icing on the cake. Sure it's Silovs instead of Demko, but c'mon... Not sure I've seen #1 in the division being the underdog to #2 in the division before.

Love a coach that sewers their goalie and excuses the giveaways in front of him.

Yes. The problem is solely Skinner.
The ten bell opportunities allowed don't factor in at all. He should save those.

I will say this. Knobby's bench behaviour and post-game pressers are 100% more bearable than listening to that smug little pr*ck Beav last year. One less oiler to hate.

Part of me thinks sportsnet sees the writing on the wall, after Draisaitl and McDavid leave, you will be hard pressed saying anything positive about edmonton. Just going all in while they can. Probably counting down the years until they can walk away from the naming rights for that arena knowing in a couple years that franchise will be back in the dark ages.

Just let Draisaitl walk for nothing. Bet it all on one last run with the twins next year under the naive presumption that he loves the city and team.

I would love to see it when Pissy walks and right after that, McDiver demand a trade.

Ched is upset that the Oilers aren't playing their role players as much as Tocchet is.
Sorry, they suck. Too bad.
Also talking about how the Stars will be even tougher next round. Lol.

It's amazing how bad the Oilers have been. The Canucks are up 2-1 and I think you could make a good case that they've outplayed the Oilers in 6 of the 9 periods so far this series despite the following:
-having to play their 3rd string goalie
-their soon to be highest paid player in Pettersson being basically MIA
-a near $5M forward in Mikheyev being completely invisible
-Hughes playing well below his capabilities
-Cole playing like the Oilers bribed him
Sure Skinner has been bad, but their defense has been just as awful. And their 5-on-5 offense has been basically non-existent since midway through game 1.
Given the Canucks' issues, there's still a decent chance the Oilers can win the series. But for a supposed "cup contender" to be struggling so much given the context is frankly embarrassing.

So, thoughts on if there will be any supplemental discipline after the Soucy/McDiver/Z exchange?
Sportsnet cutting out McP*ssy's two- hander in the footage looks like a campaign for a Soucy suspension. If you're going to show a contentious play, show the whole thing. But, sportsnet is biased garbage, we all know that.
McP*ssy with the two-hander... that needs to be looked at. Z's crosscheck was not fineable or suspendable, but I figure Soucy was going to crosscheck McP in the chest, but with McP falling, he got him in the jaw. So it needs to be considered that McP was falling. I guarantee Soucy wouldn't be dumb enough to crosscheck McP in the face. That would be an 82 game suspension...
Who knows how it'll go, but for me these are the reasonable options:
1) McP and Soucy (maybe even Zadorov) get fines- McP's two-hander slash was 100% intentional, Soucy meant to crosscheck him.... but not in the face.
2) They both get equal suspensions. They'd never suspend McP, so that won't happen.
3) Neither gets anything and they call it even.
Those are the fair options. If Soucy gets anything more than McP*ssy, the fix is in.
