At this rate if we're 7 or 8 I would take a flyer on Nylander, tons of skill and speed and he's not that small either. 5'11" 185 isn't too shabby for a young guy.

I would personally much prefer Nylander over Ehlers. I think Nylander is more highly skilled (and I think Ehlers is very skilled). Already has a larger frame that isn't far from NHL ready (I would bet this off-season he bulks up another 10lbs or so). Wouldn't be a reach at all to see Nylander in the NHL next season.

Do you know what his contract situation is like in Europe? Another year or two there? NHL out-clause if so? Would be great if whatever team drafts him would have the ability to send him down to the AHL.

I still think Burke will prefer a big guy on the board, but Nylander's skills is top-notch this draft, rivaling anyone's. Besides, he is a Calgary kid

I wouldn't necessarily bet he is available at 7 or 8 (though I wouldn't think the Flames draft that low). There is enough to like about him that he may end up going in the first 4-5 picks. He is that talented, and has had a very up-and-down season split between many teams.

I'd go with Ehlers over Nylander. This is his first year in North America and he has developed very well. He has a complete game and uses his team mates very well. His skill level and skating are off the charts. All he needs to do is add some strength.

Agreed. He seems to have good upside but is an overall safe pick. If Burke picks up a second 1st at the draft, I'd push hard for Tuch.
