I would personally much prefer Nylander over Ehlers. I think Nylander is more highly skilled (and I think Ehlers is very skilled). Already has a larger frame that isn't far from NHL ready (I would bet this off-season he bulks up another 10lbs or so). Wouldn't be a reach at all to see Nylander in the NHL next season.
Do you know what his contract situation is like in Europe? Another year or two there? NHL out-clause if so? Would be great if whatever team drafts him would have the ability to send him down to the AHL.
I still think Burke will prefer a big guy on the board, but Nylander's skills is top-notch this draft, rivaling anyone's. Besides, he is a Calgary kid
I wouldn't necessarily bet he is available at 7 or 8 (though I wouldn't think the Flames draft that low). There is enough to like about him that he may end up going in the first 4-5 picks. He is that talented, and has had a very up-and-down season split between many teams.
