i installed the HNIC App and it is dissapointing as it does not provide me with direct access to Elliot F 30 Thoughts - I seem to need to go to the HNIC site directly.

All of CAVE's shooter games are on sale right now.

If you're curious about their games, there are trial versions of them all. I highly recommend them, especially Bug Princess and Dodonpachi Resurrection.

What are people using for a movie/video player app for the iPod/iPhone so that they don't have to convert to Apple format? I have VLC installed but it gets out of sync and it has not been updated in a while. Thanks.

Despite having the VLC app, I just converted my stuff for both my Apple TV and iPod at the same time. With a handbrake script it really is quiet trivial to do.

I really like the AVPlayer app. It's been able to handle all types of files including subtitles and multiple languages. It costs money though.

Anyone know a good app where you can enter a bunch of ingredients (ie what's in your house) and it kicks out a bunch of recipes?

I believe the Epicurious app will let you do that.

Not sure if this was mentioned (or if it's even news) but LogMeIn has a free iPad / iPhone version out. Great remote desktop app.

Instead of starting a new thread I figure I could just ask this question here.
I wanted to upgrade my iphone, but when I did it says this
There was a problem downloading the software for this iphone. Network connection timed out.
Make sure your network setting are correct and your network connection is active.
Can anyone help me out? Also I dont know computers very well, so try to explain it in simple terms.
Thanks

Step one: Stop cheering for a team that never wins anything.
Step two: Reinstall iTunes on your computer, make sure your Wifi connection is solid, try to download iOS 5 again.
Step three: Tell us if it doesn't work. There are literally dozens things that could be causing that error message, I'm guessing it's either a bad install of iTunes or a weak Internet connection.
Going into settings, general, reset, reset all settings on your phone before plugging it in wouldn't hurt either. Ideally you want everything running smoothly before doing software updates.
Hope that helps.

Opinions on the best iPad app for creating and editing documents, spreadsheets, power points, etc?
I see a handful on the app store (Documents To Go Premium, Office^2 HD, Quick Office Pro HD, etc) but they're all pretty pricey so I want to pick the right one.

I like Quickoffice Pro HD.
I have tried/own Quickoffice, Docs 2 Go, and the Apple pages/numbers suite.

How good is it for excel? I use excel lots for finance in school and at work. Wondering if I should buy Numbers separately in addition to one of these suites.

If you are going to buy numbers, and need stuff for documents and powerpoints, I would just use Pages and Keynote. At least then you can have it all synced easily with iCloud and accessible all in one place. They are $10 each, so I don't know how that compares to the pricing on the other app.s

$ isn't really the driver, functionality is. I think I will just go with Pages/Numbers/Keynote. Is Keynote pretty compatible with PowerPoint?
