Absolute bs.
If Martinez could finish it would have been four or five.
One GK error away? But let's ignore three or four sitters missed.

I believe in the Jays.

Ya, Martinez usually finishes those types of chances too. Argentina should have won this fairly comfortably. Good on the Aussies for making it exciting to the end though, they fought hard.

I’m biased, but that’s on the fullback, not Ryan.

One commentator booths please. The color commentator, especially the one this morning, as they have previous games, feel they have to comment on everything and fill in dead air with nothing of value
Poland has chances but France gets runs and counter attacks the other way without much effort and it's probably only a matter of time.
Really hoping for a French meltdown.

Really good match so far this morning. France just one golden opportunity ahead.
Hoping Poland can get it back, as their keeper is my favourite player of the tournament so far.

Poland looked surprisingly strong and missed a couple keep opportunities to score first. It feels like this will go to extra time and maybe even penalty kicks.

I didn't watch the 1st half sounds like it was closer france have looked super sharp to me in the second half they are completely dominating possession and just moving the ball so quickly. So many shifts within a game and this is far from done but a france negland quarter would be a blockbuster imo

Don't know what the Polish defender was thinking leaving Mbappe alone like that.

It was an even match the first half, but the difference in quality has been evident in the second. Up til that second goal it was a great balance of France's attacking play vs Poland's excellent defending and counterattack. But Poland look wearied now and I wouldn't be surprised to see a third from France now.

Really that's just confidence. Those are repetitve training ground shots and if he's given that time he and any decent striker in the world can hammer those in.
The skill is having that calmness in that moment to pretend it's the time and space just like any other practice, not that you are in the box with the ball at your feet at the WC in a knockout game.

Those run-ups in the penalties are dumb. I don’t really care about this one, but of course the keeper is coming off the line when the player can do that. They need to change the rule somehow to make it a little more even. I get that you can’t have a keeper standing in front of the ball, but maybe they can leave the line when the player starts their run up or something?
