The ECAC spares no expense on their trophy...
The Harvard-Quinnipiac game has just started on TSN-Go. The game's in Lake Placid, so it's on the big Olympic-sized ice.

BU loses 3-2 to BC. They almost completed the comeback after being down 3-0 for most of the game.
However, Hickey's season isn't over. BU is a lock for the NCAA tournament that starts next week.

BC has to win tomorrow if they want an invite to the NCAA Tournament. If they lose, it will be interesting to see how much interest there is in Matt Gaudreau.
We know Burke loves brother-combinations and the Flames have had good luck with guys named Matt this season. He isn't as dynamic as his brother, but he does lead the Eagles in points this season, with 35 points in 39 games.

Just watch the Flyers sign Matty.
Then everytime John hits a slump there will be all the crap speculation that the Flames will trade him to the Flyers so the brothers can be reunited and John can play with his childhood team

Harvard now up 4-0 with less than 3:30 remaining in the game.
Fox picks up another assist on the 4th goal:
Harvard's PP is reall just unfair
edit: 4-1 is the final. Harvard are ECAC champs.

With his two assists, that brings Fox's season total to 36 points in 32 games. They will play at most 4 more games, so even if he doesn't get another point, he's guaranteed to be a point per game player on the season.
Zach Werenski last year is the only other 18 year-old defenceman this century to do that in Division I NCAA Hockey.
The last defenceman to average greater than a point per game as an 18 year-old defenceman in Division I was Brian Leetch, 30 years ago.

So that's... - World Jr Champion (3 points in Championship game)
- Beanpot Champion (2 points in Championship game)
- ECAC Champion (2 points in Championship game)
All since January 1... and the season isn't over yet.
Plus, he won ECAC and Ivy League Rookie of the Year and was named to the ECAC First All-Star team.

When you see what Werenski is doing this year that is pretty exciting.

Yeah. Right now, Werenski has the identical stat line as Hamilton (11G/35A in 70 games). They're both tied with Byfuglien and Shattenkirk, who also have 11G/35A, for 6th overall in defencemen scoring this season (Schultz is one point ahead of those 4 with 12G/35A).
Also, Werenski was an 8th overall pick. Fox is looking like a steal at 66th.

NCAA regional brackets are now out.
Harvard is the #1 seed for the East Regional.
Harvard will play Providence this Friday at 2pm MT. Game should be on TSNGo
BU is the #2 seed for the West regional and will face North Dakota this Friday 1pm MT on TSNGo
Reminder that if any team loses in the regional their season is over. The winners of each regional will advance to the Frozen 4 in Chicago.

Don't be surprised if the Flames burn a year of Hickey's ELC to get him to sign after his college season is done.
Hickey is 21 years old in terms of the CBA definition (the CBA takes a player's age as of September 15 in the calendar year he signs an ELC). That means a 3 year ELC.
However if Hickey goes back for another year of college, he will be a 22 year old in terms of the CBA definition when the next college season is over and that means a 2 year ELC.
Flames may be willing to burn the 1st year of a 3 year deal to sign him this year instead of flirting with UFA, because technically they are going to lose that year anyways if they don't sign him this year.
The added bonus of him burning a year, is that he would be eligible for playoffs, but it would be highly unlikely they use him in the playoffs unless they go through a lot of injuries to their NHL and AHL depth. The disadvantage is that by burning a year he won't be eligible to be assigned to Stockton this season or playoffs.
