Choosing between Pickard and Skinner might be one of the worst decisions to ever make in the history of playoff hockey. Meanwhile, Boston over here rolling with Swayman and Ullmark.

They will lose both for nothing in hopes of a miracle their offense can outscore their horrific goaltending and defence and go back to being a bottom feeder for the better part of a decade and E will remain NG forever
Agreed. They can’t really rebuild while McDavid is signed. I actually don’t see a trade scenario they win with Draisaitl. Would have to be a hockey trade where they get some defense and forward depth but they will certainly be getting worse players back.

Oilers fans feel if they don't re-sign Draisaitl that McDavid will leave. I don't think they realize how good of a chance that both want out regardless of what happens with the other.

We really need an AC compilation of all of the Mc####head sad faces. Starts with the airport fans draft day pouty pants, ends with post elimination head down on the bench. LET'S GO!

(edit. Sorry for the obvious miss there, my bad)

Pettersson looked better, but I found it hilarious he didn't know the GWG went in and missed the open net on the "rebound".

The idea that Holland could get another job is a testament to the NHL’s never ending ability to recycle mediocre hockey minds over and over again.

It's fascinating to me how an entire organization can be so infatuated with their offence that they won't ever call them out. You got 5 power play gifts, scored on none of them, and you're looking at your goalie as the problem?

When they bow out, watch Holland take a swipe at Henrique for being unavailable.

Zadorov has been an absolute beauty for Vancouver. Seeing him continually clown Kane is amazing

For sure, the mismanagement has been brutal and the funny thing is that fix seemed so simple. I think they really missed the boat on not going all in on Markstrom and Tanev when the Flames signed them. Outside the goalie they could have built a better dcore but went in on more offence.

Finished some work and switched to the game. 4 minutes left. What a delightful end to my day! Thank you. Canucks. Watching the highlights now. Did the Oilers not meet the media after the game?

The Oilers have started their next tank already. They are all in for two more years. In a year Draisaitl walks. In two years, bye bye McDavid. These are the draft picks they have traded recently, with likely more to be traded from the 2024-25 drafts:

2025 - 2, 4, 5
2024 - 1, 3, 4, 6, 7
2023 - 1, 3, 4, 5
2022 - 1, 2, 3, 4

Their objective is clearly to ride out their two stars and then sit on the bottom for 10 - 15 years until they get four first overall picks (which will all be forwards) to build their team around and take a stab at greatness. That is the roadmap to success in the City of Champions.

What a great morning to wake up to. Just watched the goal. So if Lindy's pass that went of Pettersson's skate went in to the net instead of clanging off the post for Miller to then score from, what are the chances the NHL would have claimed a "kicking motion" and waived off the goal? At this point I wouldn't put it past them.

2025 - 2, 4, 5
2024 - 1, 3, 4, 6, 7
2023 - 1, 3, 4, 5
2022 - 1, 2, 3, 4

That's insanity. And all they have to show for it is a 3rd round sweep from the Avalanche.
