Thanks.
I think the NHL's problem is defining what is goalie interference and what is not. This is important because it determines what is reviewable or not. To turn a non-call into a regular 2 minute call is not reviewable.
So Bennett shoving the the defender to get the puck, does it matter that the defender falls into the goalie? Does the result turn it into a different penalty thus making it reviewable?
Is a defender disadvantaged if he holds his ground enough not to fall into the goalie? If so, I would flop onto my goalie every time.

They aren’t going to call that play a penalty in the last ten minutes of a playoff game. Not in a hundred years.
Bennett gives Coyle a little shot with one hand, at the top of the 3 on his jersey.
It wasn’t anything mega. It was a love tap, and he managed to knock Coyle off balance.
If he’d reared back and hammered Coyle’s C6 vertebrae, sure.
Stay on your skates, kid.

An interference penalty isn't about physical violence. It's about contact with a player away from the puck which gives an advantage. It did there.

They’re still not gonna make that call at that time of the game (16 minutes, not under 10, sorry) in the second round.
It’s playoff hockey. It’s rough.

Even on opening night of the regular season, there are doezens of those little crosschecks in front of nets all around the league.
Coyle was barely even moved by it, but he embellished it and tripped on top of his own goalie in the process. Regardless, the ruling is that it had no impact on the play, as Swayman was too far over to even get across to make the save in the first place.

Rough has nothing to do with what my point was. I’m saying there was a better call on interference with Coyle than Swayman.

I don’t think there was any embellishment. And I understand the ruling.

Very obviously AI - in addition to the weird mouth animation there are a bunch of mispronounced words... "puck drub" and "bruings".
They don't quite have it figured out yet. Getting frighteningly close, though.

I saw a couple of the video jumps but I was mostly just listening to it and thought it was crazy.
Man, this stuff is freaky.

Yeah interference is not a call I've ever seen made at the front of net in trying to establish position. At any time.
Coyle blew it by either embellishing or simply not being strong enough on his skates.
Thank God the NHL didn't overturn that or defenders will be falling into their goalie all the time to try and draw a call.
