I don’t know if a nice personality like McLellan is the guy to do the job. I really feel the nice guy was taken advantage of by the kids running the show. I’d be much more inclined to hire Tocchet. Supportive yet tough. Treliving hasn’t been the been the best judge of what his team needs coaching wise so this wouldn’t surprise me.

I don't think Tocchet is available.

It's confirmed now that the Leafs have interviewed both McLellan and Berube for the job. I wonder who else they'll be interviewing? Gallant?

Is this the first time Treliving has interviewed more than 1 candidate?

Nope, I believe he interviewed multiple candidates each time, except for when he fired Peters and named Geoff Ward as interim (which is the case for every team normally) and also when Sutter was hired as the rumors were that Sutter was an Edwards choice. But for Gulutzan and Peters, I remember multiple candidates were hired before they were chosen.

Bill Peters was his only interview. He started his press conference stating that he was the only candidate he spoke with.

I can’t remember the Gulutzan hiring, but I know Reideren was a finalist and Travis Green?

Here is the article about Peter’s.

Treliving clearly believes in the yo-yo from tough coach to nice coach.
Hartley
Gulutzan
Peters
Ward
Sutter (although still not sure who hired him).

This is going to be a hard ass coach.
