I disagree. Marcus has the best bars (the almond and rocky road are great). Village Ice cream is the best cones. They excel in different areas.

Marcus actually steeps their ingredients with the cream before churning therefore developing better flavour in the ice cream. They also build their bases accordingly to each flavour
Village uses the same straight base for all of their flavours except the sorbets and vegan variation. However one thing they do have is a higher fat content in their ice cream and people seem to enjoy that.
If you're more into Flavour, Marcus has Village beat on all fronts

Signage is already up for 'New Leaf' in the retail bay directly north of Meraki Supply. They must be pretty confident, I also notice their signage up at a spot on 19th street NW just south of 16th avenue.

New sushi/ramen joint on 19th St where Vina family pizza place used to be.
EDIT: the place is called Cho - they have some serious growing pains - tried to eat there last night, and they could not handle two tables and two take-out orders. Hostess kept disappearing to the kitchen for long periods. No one greeted me for 15 minutes, so I left. All the other guests seemed really annoyed too.

Great, just what the neighbourhood was missing...
Hey Calgary restauranteurs, we could use an authentic Mexican place in the Kensington area! And no, Taco Time at the mall and whatever Julio's Barrio is don't count.
Edit: Also a Chinese bakery!
Edit 2: Oh yeah, also we need a replacement Bubble Tea place please!

There was an authentic Mexican place. It closed, now it's Bodega, a Caribbean place.
edit: actually, it looks like Bodega has some decent Mexican dishes too.

Espresso Cafe. Expresso is on 5th Ave. Tried it a couple times. Just brewed coffee once and latte the other. Both were good but the most expensive in the neighbourhood by far.
Btw, Expresso on 5th is excellent.

I prefer a Milk-Bone Latte over a Catnip Latte.
