The Oilers need to unload a lot of salary because of upcoming contracts so bringing in a older defenseman with a higher cap hit then Eberle makes zero sense. And I doubt that the Sens would retain salary on Neon Dion to get Eberle.
I'm amazed it wasn't a spector rumor "OMG The Oilers are going to trade Eberle straight across for Karlsson because Chia is like the best GM in the league and he looks so hot when the light shines off of his baldspot. Now if you'll excuse me I'll be in my bunk.

We needed a story to bump this back to the front page and I think this qualifies. I saw a story on Sportsnet that Lucic wants to be a GM when his career is over, I didn't think he could even spell GM never mind be one!
If he does want to be one he would probably fit right in in Edmonton with the bunch of losers they have had since Sather left.

Chiarelli is a ballsy GM. He'll make trades like Maroon and Talbot but then make Schultz and Reinhart type trades. Good comes with the bad I guess

Like I said in the Expansion Draft thread last night, somehow Chiarelli failed to win the "successfully drafted Connor McDavid" award. I thought for sure that he would have been a shoe-in.
