Conor-Floyd...the fight for people who thought Manny-Floyd wasn't boring enough. Everyone knows the real fight of the century is three weeks later.

So the Wife and I booked a trip to Vegas two weeks from August 24 to August 29th. I can't tell if this is going to be a good thing or a bad thing for that trip. I'm assuming bad as it will now be a #### show.

Anyone know how one would go about getting tickets to this fight? I'd like to see it, even if it's a nosebleed, but I bet I will balk at paying whatever they will be charging for the bleeders. I was thinking $500 a ticket would be my cut off point, but I doubt that gets me in the door.

I think tickets will be reasonable-ish, everyone knows there's only two possible outcomes here, Conor going legend and getting himself disqualified (ideally with by either kicking Floyd in the nuts repeatedly, or dropping some 12-6 elbows on him), or Floyd dancing, and dancing....and dancing some more in shutout victory. I certainly think high rollers have no interest in this, especially since Conor is getting absurdly good odds right now. I think to get in the door will be around $250-300. Those tickets will obviously be gone fast though.

Cheapest ticket sold for may-pac was 1500 (nosebleed). This fight should never come close to the same prices but I won't be surprised.

Think they will go on sale through Ticketmaster?

Wow congrats to the fighters both are going to get PAID. Smart teams, it's a pretty dumb fight but people will tune in for sure.

I imagine the cheapest to get in will be a thousand bucks..for the worst seats in the house.

This is nothing but a sideshow but it will be spectacularly successful as far as revenue goes.

The weigh-in presser will be must watch TV.

What's McGregor going to get for this? A cool $100 million or so?

Guy is a genius. He's smack talked his way into a bloody fortune.

Well, McGregor would normally get it handed to him, but something tells me that Mayweather will take it easy on him and do his usual defence in order to legitimize the fight, though in reality it should be over in the first round. There's no way a fight like this should be taking place. Money talks. I won't be paying for it but would love to see McGregor winded with a straight hit to the gut.

I don't think it'll be $1000 just to get in. This isn't Manny and Floyd, a fight people really badly wanted to see (albeit it several years earlier). Most people know that this is going to be really awful as a fight, and Floyd fighting Manny hurts this fights ability to sell big money tickets because fans know Floyd has no interest in an actual fight with shots being exchanged, they know he's going to be a pure boxer, hit and don't get hit, with a heavy emphasis on the latter.

In fact it's the bolded most people are actually excited about, the promotion will be far, far better than the actual fight. The celebrities and high rollers and money spenders are going to wait for the real superfight that is going to be at least 100 times a better fight than this sideshow. I think tickets will be expensive sure, but not ridiculously so. This is a much, much harder sell at $1,000 just to get in than Manny and Floyd was, you know the odds are extremely high (like 99.95%) this will not be worth the money.

I also don't wanna hear anyone who spends any money on this complaining when it turns into a dud. If you aren't aware it's going to be, that's on you and no one else. Just go watch the McGregor sparring sessions, remind yourself Floyd has fought guys who are 5-10 times better boxers than Conor, and seek out an illegal stream instead.

This is going to be a horrible fight, and in the end unless its fixed at a level of Thunderlips vesus Rocky Balboa, its going to be boring. Maywheather won't let himself be hit, and McGregor will be made to look silly in a fight where 3/4 of his skill go away.

Anyone that pays money for them is just asking to be taken.

I expect that the major headline will be millions of people crying "Ripoff"

They'll react the same way they will if he win's, they'll drink.

I'm just going for the spectacle surrounding it. I fully expect Mayweather to toy with McGregor enough to say it was a fight with the outcome of the fight never in jeopardy.

I don't think anyone actually thinks this will be a good fight, or at least they shouldn't.

But like others have said, it's the pure spectacle that this will be that will draw in a casual boxing fan and non MMA fan like myself. Stuff like this only happens every so often and it's part of what makes sporting events fun.
