So I was watching this documentary on SNET yesterday called "Names on the Cup" and it got me thinking, What are CP members favorite Stanley Cup moments? We all know and love the 89 Flames but what about other teams? Was it the powerhouse Habs of the 70's? The Islanders 4 straight Cups? etc...
Anyways discuss.
Mine has got to be Ray Borque finally winning the cup after 22 years in the league. Instead of raising the Cup Joe Sakic passes it to Ray Bourque. Pretty awesome moment.

The 2006 Hurricanes and 2011 Bruins immediately come to mind.

In recent years I have really noticed the pain on the faces of the losing team, it is like they know they missed out on their chance, and the grizzled veterans, seeing their pain is horrible
However, that is offset by the pure joy of watching the cup winners, you know that most of these guys have played out this moment on their driveways and local rinks thousands of time
I always love the harry Beale line about how the cup only weighing 32 pounds, but it takes the strength of an entire team to lift it
I wonder if rsn will be able to cobble together a halfway decent montage, if it it will be something shot with a potato

The Borque and Sutter cup wins are pretty good ones. Here are a few of mine:
-1993 Game 2: The McSorley stick measurement allowing the Habs to come back and win in OT.
-1996 Game 3: Roy hiding in the net as the rats come flying onto the ice.
-1999 Game 6: Hull's no goal which lead to the crease rule change.
-2006 Game 1: Conklin's give away to gift the Canes the win.
-2011 Game 7: No explanation required.
