Dumb question, do you have to live in the ward that you run for or represent?

Nope. You can live outside the ward you represent.

I hear you. I went through the same thin when the same thing was happening to Shawnee Slopes golf course. Wasn't really a factor in me moving, but looking back, I'm glad I left the area when I did

I thanked this because despite the fact that I'm against basically whatever Druh votes for, I have to acknowledge that she represents the interests of her ward. What she advocates is exactly what the majority of the people in her ward support. Democracy in action!

Maybe our city Councillors should have to spend a Saturday together where they have to wite an essay about who they are.

Diane: [closing narration] Dear Ethics person , we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. But we think you're crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us - in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a moron...
Dru: A Latte sipping spending machine
Ward: a 10 year old
Brian a worthless shrill yes man
Ray ...lazy...
Diane: Does that answer your question? Sincerely yours, the Spenders Club.

It's not surprising to see the amount of childish behaviour we do on council given who is at the helm.

It was too far in hindsight and I apologize. Far left ideologue politicians bring the worst out of me.

Not sure about about Bill, but I'm still anxiously awaiting a response about this.
Your comment insinuates that there's something we should clearly know about. A twitter search shows mentions of a fundraiser but nothing that adds more context, as you suggested.
Have you been hanging out with politicians so much that you too simply avoid questions you don't want to answer?

Sorry, hadn't visited the thread in a while. It is second hand, because I wasn't there, but I've heard his fundraiser was a very open, very crude Druh-bashing mess.

That's a little unfair, don't you think? Have I not been very open about answering questions my time here? I had an AMA thread for goodness sakes. Also, I'm engaged politically, but I also haven't worked for a politician in more than two years.

You didn't answer his question in a day. Geez, it's like you have a life outside CP.

Why have rules of decorum if you aren't going to enforce them?

Does nothing matter anymore?

I'd be ####ing fired if I did that in the boardroom with no cameras or public around....

So, it was second hand information, yet you still declared that there was much more to the context of this story based upon it?

Your source(s) is/are wrong. There was one single joke involving Druh made by the comedian host. Surely your source told you what it was, so you can probably admit that the joke, and the event in it's entirety, was far from a "very crude, Druh bashing mess". There were worst jokes made by that same host to Ken King and the Flames players/staff who were in attendance than there was toward any other local official.

There were also a couple of Nenshi jokes though that had great reactions from the crowd, but I'm guessing you already knew that. Your exaggeration, based upon second hand information instead of sticking with facts, is just irresponsible and follows the trend on Twitter of people skewing the information to make Ward seem like a horrible person.

What were the jokes? Curious.

Hey look, I have no specific issue with Ward. I said there is a lot more context around this and there is. The fundraiser, for instance, added fuel to that fire - as I understand especially in the eyes of Druh. I think it's no secret there's no love lost between them, which is why I think this stabbing gesture episode was perceived the way it was.

Moreover, politicians should be held to a high standard. At best this is immature, juvenile behavior.
We should demand more out of our elected officials.

Not verbatim, but the host's joke went something like this.
Ward, Joe and Peter voted against walk 21.
Filler joke about Joe's frosted tips.
Druh voted in favor of walk 21. When asked, she described it was a cheap and cheerful. I wasn't sure if she was talking about walk 21 or her tinder profile.

That was the only time her name was brought up during the fundraiser.

As someone said above when the man on top has resorted to condescending public comments like "math is challenging" to other politicians and has been part of many ugly twitter spats it's kind of par for the course in Calgary city hall these days.
