Genie sounds off on Sharapova issues. If this isn't another dreadful attempt to keep her name in the headlines, I don't know what is. Suddenly she has so many opinions?

this is pretty much in line with most other statements from WTA members, though not quite so forward. Genie will take flack for this because of her losing ways, but I don't think most of her peers would disagree.
of course Maria's team, agent, and the tournament directors will probably say something equally caustic about Genie's record/ranking and how she should worry about her own game. because those guys definitely are not prioritizing financial gain over integrity of sport.

Agreed, people may have some issues with how blunt Genie was regarding Maria, but I don't think many (WTA members and tennis fans) will disagree with her stance.

I have an issue with the fact that she hasn't had an opinion on the Sharapova drug scandal until now. Her game is in the toilet. She's looking at the potential of slipping out of the top 100 in the near future. This is clearly nothing more than a media grab by Genie and her camp. If she was really this upset about it I'm sure we would have heard from her a year ago on the subject. She should worry about her tennis game instead of sounding off on fellow players.

Not to mention Sharapova comes back after all that time off and wins.

Women's tennis is so incredibly weak that Sharapova already has a pretty good claim to being #2 in the world (I'm assuming Serena is not considerable until she comes back). I do think that this ultimate hurts Serena a lot since it just proves how weak this era really is for women's tennis, so I think Serena's argument as the greatest takes a big hit there. As far as Genie's comments, the humiliating part for Genie id she's absolutely floundering, consistently not just losing but losing badly to players outside the top 100, while Maria goes away for 15 months and comes back and is pretty much instantly a top 5 player. Genie would be wise to go totally media dark until she can at least string a couple wins together.

Milos through to the Quarter Finals in Istanbul with a 6-7, 6-3, 7-6 win. Will now face Tomic.
A pretty efficient match for his first clay tournament of the year. Never gave up a break point despite being a little rusty.

Milos takes set 2 and the match in a tie-breaker as well. Tie-breaker scores were (4) and (6). Nice.

Joker parts way with guys who have been part of his team for a decade.
Novak Djokovic announced on Friday that he is seeking a new direction in his tennis career and has parted ways with his coach Marian ###da, fitness trainer Gebhard Phil Gritsch and physio Miljan Amanovic. The World No. 2 took the decision after a quarter-final exit at the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters (l. to Goffin). Next week, he will look to retain his title at the Mutua Madrid Open.
“I am forever grateful to Marian, GG and Miljan for a decade of friendship, professionalism and commitment to my career goals,” said Djokovic, in a statement on his official website. “Without their support I couldn’t have achieved these professional heights.

Off to the final for Milos! 6-2, 6-3 over Viktor Troicki. Milos will face Marin Cilic in the final -- another great test.

Genie beat Cornet 6-4, 4-6, 6-1. I'm surprised to read this was their first meeting. She could face Sharapova next in Madrid. Dun dun dun...
