Played my first round last weekend at Land-O down here. Other than the sand on the greens and mats for the par 3's, it was in surprisingly decent shape

I saw on facebook the other day that there is a new 36 hole layout opening in south Calgary on 22x - serenity. I completely missed they were building something down south.
it appears to be run by the same group that runs heatherglen and the like.
I quickly looked at their website abd one course has a spot on their website for rates; however, if you click it you are taken to some page that extolls the virtues of golfing there - so I guess the rates have not been set.
the other course has no mention of rates, so I am guesing that 18 is private.
I'd imagine this will have a slightly negative impact on speargrass - but what do I know.

I believe I read that only 18 holes are ready for this season and the next course will be opening next year.
EDIT: 2nd course opens in 2019.

Wow, Vip golf now has tv ads- that aint cheap. They must be making a killing. Seems to be a must now for avid golfers in western canada that cant afford an equity membership/or simply want variety. I got out when it was getting just too difficult to book spots. I would hope they have since purchased more spots and memberships at all of these courses?

Yah I found VIP golf great when my friends were also VIP members. But they cancelled and then I couldn't find anyone to play with because it sucks to play the courses and times VIP requires if you are not a member.

Played (very poorly) 18 at Fox Hollow today... its in rough shape, still on temp greens. Hard to complain much when it was $25 for 18 though.

Golf!!!2!
Hit up boulder creek today. Greens are in okay shape. Bunkers are unplayable with all the water in them. For $30, well worth it

The tee boxes and fairways were in excellent shape. The greens were a bit hard with wedge shots not always sticking. Greens had sand on them but it didn't effect the roll of the ball. A few of the traps had water but overall in great shape.

Played Muirfield for the first time today, in good shape considering the date. Also played Blue Devil last Friday, pricey for the conditions, which is par for the course for that track.
