They should consider having a dedicated section/zone for the loudiest fans. Other teams seems to have it (Oakland Raiders, TFC, heck even the Houston Rockets got a section). Maybe fill up the empty seats right along the 1st/2nd row and call it the Ring of Fire?

Won't work due to supply and demand, unfortunately. But sometimes I think they should hang microphones over the nosebleed sections and pipe the crowd noise into the lower bowl.

I agree with Dome can be a library at times but to be fair there hasn't been much to cheer about lately. Last season was a disaster, this season got off to a bad start, and the 2nd and 3rd periods of the Wings game were very boring. I'm sure when the Flames make the playoffs the Dome will be rocking.

I hate chants, they are so separate from what's actually happening in the game. They are fantastic if you don't care about the outcome like going to a European soccer game where the crowd is part of the entertainment but when there is an actual game going on the chants or god forbid the wave is a distraction.
What I want is natural crowd noise from tension and excitement. The ohhhhh when a shot misses the post, the boos and jeers of missed calls, the reaction to big hits. Natural real reaction to what you are seeing. That is what makes an entertaining crowd. It's not chanting fight songs while the play is on.

Saddledome Noise Rallying Cry
The Best thing CP ever did to influence the crowd were the "who to boo" threads.
This is probably Circa 2002-2003, but it was just awesome. One player every game nominated to be booed every time they touch the puck. Fans and the player often having no clue as to what the heck was going on. Crowd got into it, amazing.
Not sure why it ended, but that was some kind of good message board work.

Also, whatever happened to trumpet guy? That guy along with Harvey could get the crowd going by himself.

I think that this iteration of Harvey is quite lackluster and that has a lot to do with it as well. Back in the day Harvey was working hard and got the crowd going. It seems to me that when ever Harvey succeed in a section and does something that the crowd comes alive. It definitely did last night when he pulled the drum out in our section towards the end of the third. (Only noticed Harvey for this 1 minute appearance all game.)
In short I am not sure that I am completely comfortable calling out the mascot but Harvey still gets a response when he/she? chooses to evoke it. Harvey on uppers could really bring some life to the games.

Aren't there 3-4 people that play the role of Harvey?

Could be, I have no idea really. Feels like it is one person part time this year.

If the flames keep playing like this they won't have to worry about crowd noise; we always bring it in a playoff push/in the playoffs. The C of Red is a beautiful thing to watch and that home ice advantage is unrivalled.

2014/15 was definitely louder even at this point in the season. Not sure exactly what it is. 2 things that would help would be to change the intro music - it's Nauseating right now and try to score first once in a while.

We should start a "Moose" calling. I know Elliott liked that when he was in St. Louis

I've been yelling moose at the games after saves, but no one else seems to get into it. That should be a thing.

I blame Canyon! He has everyone yawning before the puck even drops.

I also yell MOOSE after saves. People looked strangely at me at first and one person thought I was booing! I explained Elliott's nickname and there are quite a few on board now. Its a hard slog though. I think I'm the only one who YAHOO's after a goal announcement. We definitely need to be louder as a fan base.
