Thanks. Lucky for him I'd say.

No. They're contracts slide due to age but they were signed to standard three year entry level deals.

Hoping on the other topic I really doubt it's lucky for him the contract slide. Would be surprised to see him not qualified regardless. Just doesn't make sense to cut loose a guy that young that fast imo. Sure.. 23, 24 you've seen enough. 21-22 still lots of development to hopefully see.

The lack of patience is astonishing.

What astonishing lack of patience are you referencing?

If you show concern about the development of a flames player on here you have a "lack of patience". Before you know it you've "written the kid off". Every player drafted by the flames will pan out, just be patient.

In general over my many years on this site. The Flames have an entire AHL roster and spots in the ECHL to fill out so IMO there is no rush to cut loose 20-22 year old players.

Really disappointing the Flames have three late 1st rounders from 2013 in their system and none are making a hard push, but all have one more years left on their contracts and I wouldn't be cutting them this offseason regardless.

Asking why a player is struggling and suggesting it is good for him that he has another year left on his entry contract to improve his standing is not an astonishing lack of patience, writing him off or rushing to cut him loose.

If you are preaching patience, perhaps you should take the time to read some of those posts before making broad, hyperbolic generalizations.

The Heat already have enough offensive defensemen that struggle to play defense.

Rather him than Morrison right now. Not that I do not value Morrison as an AHL defender but I do not see NHL potential left for him.

It's Sam Bennett that needs to make his way onto this squad. He's wasting away up in the NHL. He needs to get a kick in the ass and try producing at the AHL level.

I fully support this idea. Send him down and call up Jankowski. Let Bennett center Shinkaruk and Klimchuk for the time being.

No thanks. Bennett needs to figure it out at the NHL level but moreso I don't want Huska getting his hands on him. The Heat desperately need a coaching change imo.

To be fair, Gulutzan isn't any better.

It wouldn't be the worst idea to send him down. If anything, to build up his confidence.

Exactly. He'll need top line minutes and top line mates, so you can't have Jankowski and him both fighting for top center spot.

Even if Janko just gets some time around the team and some money in his pocket, I think it would benefit both players.

How can you say GG is not any better? The Flames have a winning record and are currently in a playoff spot with mediocre goaltending. What is Stockton's record?

I firmly believe the team needs to put Bennett on the wing the rest of the season. He's gone through a lot this year and likely learned a lot playing a ton of center. Now is the time for him to build his confidence and shift to the wing with the Flames top players. A demotion to the AHL could completely shatter his physche and is not worth the risk.
