Maybe the only reason they didn't sign Glencross was because they felt there were too many ex-Flames already haha.

Same gap we've had for a while. Need a 2nd line rw. Push Jones to the 3rd line, Jooris to the 4th, and Raymond off the team

Not a huge fan of having Jones in the top 6 but in his defense last game on that line he was noticeable as he was skating hard to the net. Playing that way on a line with Gadreau could result in good things.

Jones is a reliable player - more so than Backlund at this point. Plus he does some good things in the offensive zone from time to time.
Not a $4million player mind you, but at the right price I would like to keep him.

Frolik - Stajan - Jooris played on a line together in the Edmonton game.
Hartley might have found something there to be honest, they looked great

David Jones plays well against his old team. Had the most goals vs the Avs last season I believe. There's a reason he's playing alongside Johnny tonight.

Bad goal?
That shot was ####ing amazing. Talbot was right up against the post, too. Frolik must be a prodigy of the mini golf cause damn..

The Mikael Backlund thing is really interesting from a modern stats point of view. He has 1 goal, he is -7, all of that says he should be demoted as he has.
Yet the guy as per usual in his career is one of the top possession players on the team meaning that although not a lot of good is happening when he's out there at least the limits the bad.
(having said that, and I'm a Backlund fan for the most part, he hasn't looked as good to me in the details this season as in the past)

I think backlunds possession numbers are high because he skates over the blue line and takes a weak wrister on goal. He Does this a ton. I dislike this play but it helps his advanced stats.

Anyone else annoyed with the way we line-change on the fly? We could have our first decent offensive push in a period, about to start some cycling and everyone peels off leaving the puck for the other team.

it wouldn't hurt him!
but then it's only one "event" and surely that can't work over more of a sample size.
the guy doesn't finish but he does do a lot of the little things well, I noticed that before fancy stats were a daily news item but there was never any real term for it.
kept thinking he would put it together and be that 50 point guy but I have to admit his time is running out on that upside
