Have you tried Unimarket? http://www.unimarket.ca/en/
I can't say for sure, but they seem to have a lot of authentic stuff in there. Just be prepared to speak Spanish, on more than one occasion I found my Spanish was better than an employee's English.

^^ They also have delicious lunch counter there. I have gone there for a lunch a few times and haven't been disappointed. No idea what I ate, but it has been good.

I know there is a supply place that carries the tortilla pan/press. I would guess they may have fresh tortilla as it's a mexican grocery in forest lawn.

Coop has a 40/50 pack they get from the only tortilla making place in Calgary. Name escapes me, but thats about your only option for decent masa tortillas that are local and fresh.

Well there's the Tortilla hut that's just off of third by City Hall
There's also Tortilla's R Us that's on third too, You've got put your meat in this, that's on third as well and there's Wrap it and eat it, that's on third too. As a matter of fact they're all in the same building, the Tortilla Complex on third, you'll now it when you see it.

Also, Costa Vida restaurants make their tortillas (both corn and flour) fresh on the spot there.

Tortillas should be made in house, sets up the flavor for the whole dish.

I bought a tortilla maker from a thrift store and it's easy to make your own.

Los Tortillas is located in the NE and you used to be able to get fresh tortillas there.
I know they closed the restaurant aspect of the place since they opened a new restaurant (Oro Azul) but not sure if you can still get Tortillas from them.

has anyone had fresh arepas (sp)? My roommate makes them from scratch and they are seriously the best. He puts the corn through a hand cranked meat grinder.

There's a little Mexican grocery store/deli type setup in the plaza (west side of 14th St.) at Northmount Dr. and 14 St. NW. They make them in the store.

X2 for Unimarket. I've bought fresh tortillas at both locations. If you go, make sure you buy some Natura's red beans, they are pre cooked and delicious, they also have frozen arepas and pupusas. Hungry.

Boca Loca was sold and became Salsita. There still may be some old signage.

Hell if I know what it's called, but there's a place in the Crossroads Farmer's Market that sells amazing made in house totopos for like, $5 for a reasonably large bag. Their salsas are phenomenal as well. It's the first place on the right in the concession area.
