While I totally agree that the death would be amazing, it would make the beta part of the weekend pretty boring.

I honestly think I will end up loving this game just because so many people have already told me that I will hate it

I installed it last night. I think I'm going to wait until Saturday to give it a go though. My excitement level is pretty low for this game so we'll see how it goes this weekend. I am willing to give it a shot though.

I'd skip this game and go for Everquest Next if this is your kind of game, it looks extremely innovative and fun and I generally don't like this genre.

I agree Everquest looks awesome, A new MMO would have to blow me away to switch from WoW as I just don't have enough time for two and have too much invested in WoW.
Looks like they lied about the times, the beta server is up and running I was able to log in and make my toon and start. I'm at work so I did this all through team viewer so i'm not playing yet but I am running my jump script so i stay logged in until i get home , will see how it is tonight.

The game looks great and its pretty fun. That being said I believe its going to run into the exact same issue as SWOTOR. Its a great single player game but not worth of a $15/month premium and this game will hit free to play really fast.

Game ran great on ultra high settings in my mid range video card. No lag to speak of and the story seemed OK.
No issues logging in at all at about 8:30 last night.
One thing to add, as I was playing, it almost felt like I was playing a Skyrim expansion. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing, at this point yet.
For me, I have no interest in playing a MMORPG unless it is essentially a single player experience. Which kind of begs the question, why would I play 'online Skyrim' for $15 a month when I could play the Dawnguard expansion that I haven't bought for $10 in total.

Exactly, and there are already multiplayer mods for skyrim. They may not be great but if all you want is to have a couple friends in the same game then why buy the MMO.

I am very impressed with how well the game runs, my rig is over 6 years old with an updated graphics card and ultra high runs smooth.
I am not sure how much we can talk about on a public forum without breaking the NDA, but I agree with the it feels like a single player skyrim game. I really want to test the PvP before I pass judgement but I don't think I will time this weekend to get to level 10.
First impressions are it is a fun game, but the lasting impression is that it just doesn't have that MMO feel/interface.
