Nexus 7 (2012) 16gb $129.99 (on sale at Futureshop/Bestbuy)
Nexus 7 (2013) 16gb $249.99
Looking at buying one of the above. Is the 2nd gen tablet worth the extra $120?
Edit: Does anyone know where or when the 2nd gen model might be going on sale. Not in a big rush to buy this as it will be a Christmas present from my wife.

I have both, Rerun. I like the 2013 better because the nicer screen, it's lighter and has an overall better feel.
I'd say get the 2013. I use my 2012 pretty much for showing clients product decks now. Maybe some email.

The new nexus 7 is $229 on the Play store with free shipping. It should come before Christmas and I'm not sure you'll find it cheaper.

Yeah, I think most of that stuff is exclusive to the Nexus 5, at least for now. Pretty ridiculous IMO, though I assume they'll eventually get that stuff on other devices.

Price match, save an extra $2 and any hassle when it comes to waiting for shipping/returning/replacements.

I ordered the new Nexus 7 32 GB from NC IX for $245. It was on sale for 1 day. Should be here on Monday. What happened to my fonts, it's italicised? ...
Here's the Nexus 7 16GB for $225.

Was able to find a workaround to get the Google Experience Launcher without rooting the Nexus 7:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/11...-apk-download/
I used the 2nd method with the APK Installer app and am not getting any of the keyboard bugs or off center search boxes like the article says they got.
edit: so far only downside is no widgets with Google Experience, but I believe that is the case for nexus 5. but now I got transparent bars and Google Now integration

What I should have ordered along with this case was a Qi charger. Any recommendations out there for a decent one and where to get it?
This one has decent reviews: http://www.amazon.com/standard-Wirel.../dp/B00E7NEZXE
Off to install kit kat 4.4...likely be back to ask how to unbrick a Nexus 7

Just read your review on this case. I bought the same case too as it seemed the best bang for your buck. But the one thing I want to warn people on is that the magnets in the case will interfere with the Nexus 7's compass.
So if you want to use things like turn based directions, or the google sky map app, etc. the compass will be completely off while the nexus 7 is in this case.

Did the "patch" and it is working without issue. So worth it just for the left swipe to get to Google Now.

Picked up a 2013 Nexus 7 32gb today at Futureshop. $249.99 (available at BestBuy too for the same price)
Sale ends Nov. 28.
I think this is the cheapest its going to get for a while. Looked through a bunch of Black Friday flyers and the Nexus isn't even listed as being on sale.

Depends on what you want to do with your tablet.
For those that are looking for a bluetooth keyboard for their Nexus 7 take a look here and search for nexus: http://gcsurplus.ca/mn-eng.cfm?x=1&s...=0&sc=ach-shop
You might be able to grab one for a pretty decent discount.
