Logitech G9x mouse dying, replacement?
My trusty G9x is starting to click twice whenever I click, switch must be going on it..
What's a good replacement? The G700s looks ok. I tried a MatCatz R.A.T. mouse when my last G9x died and had to return it, was painful for some reason.
Had a GigaByte mouse for a week and it died, so not so enthusiastic about general accessories manufacturers like Corsair or ThermalTake, not sure if the quality is there.
What's everyone's favorite gaming mouse?

Not a recommendation, but if you want to keep your current mouse, try squirting a bit of WD40 (or switch cleaner) into the switches. I had a Logitech MX Performance mouse stop registering clicks altogether, and this made it good as new.

I use a G700 and really love it. But I'm also a hopeless Logitech fanboy that's been using exclusively Logitech mice/keyboards/speakers for over 10 years now. It has a nice ergonomic feel to it, and the charging cable is nice to have compared to a cradle or using batteries. I just leave mine plugged in the whole time and treat it like a wired mouse.

Yeah I've been a Logitech fanboy for a long time too.
I'll try the WD40!

I had a G700 and ran into the same clicking twice problem as you after about a year of relatively heavy use.
It's a good mouse from a design and usage perspective but it does seem to run into the same problems you're experiencing.
My G5 is probably my favorite mouse ever but there isn't really a replacement for it =/ I use a razer mouse now but it's just not the same and I wouldn't recommend it.

A couple of my friends have Razer mice and I think they're crap. It's unfortunate that Logitech stopped production of the G9x/haven't produced a replacement. It's the best mouse I've ever owned and I wish I had picked up a spare for the future. I think if I had to get a new mouse today I'd end up with a G500 as it looks similiar to my old MX510. I hear good things about Corsair's keyboards but nothing in regards to their mice.

Try a Corsair M65... the build quality is very high. It doesn't feel cheap and plastic-y and feels real solid and comfortable. Goes for 60-70 bucks at memory express.

I picked up a G700s, seems nice, taller than the G9x tho so not sure how that will work out.

The Alienware TactX mouse is a rebranded G9x except without the weights.
It usually goes on sale for $30 during the dell 10 days of deals. My first one lasted me just under 3 years before the double clicking issue appeared but for $30 it's the best gaming mouse you can get.

I love my G700 so much. I even bought a second to have at work. I am a miserable failure at remembering to plug in my wireless mice so having the corded charging option is nice.

Not a new mouse but my mouse pointer kept freezing. I didn't know if it was a problem with my mouse driver or if it was something worse. Anyways went to Gigabyte site for my M6900 and downloaded new driver. Everything now tickety-boo and I'm relieved as it was becoming a huge problem.
and thanks for the WD40 tip, I'm going to try it on another computer mouse I have.
