Default Microsoft Office product key question

So I'm sure this is a noob question, but is there any way of getting the 25 character product key code for my Microsoft Office 07 disk, aside from the box?

Lent my buddy a DVD from a box set awhile ago, so he took the Microsoft Office box to hold it in, and I shoved the disk in with another one. A little while later I got a virus on my computer and had the whole thing wiped, so I was installing everything again, and when I inserted the disk, its asking for the product key from the box...which my buddy has now lost, along with the DVD (this is why I don't lend things out anymore).

I've only got 2 log-in's left before its going to lock me out of Word until I enter it. Just don't really wanna have to buy a whole new Office package when this one's relatively new and works great. Thanks if you can help!

You'd need an installed copy somewhere in order to use a tool like ProduKey to recover the key from the registry. Otherwise, no, there's really nowhere else your key is stored.

Fun fact: Office 2013 can store your product key in your Microsoft account so scenarios like this aren't a problem.

Ah, 10/4, kinda what I was expecting. That sucks, kinda surprised a # that important wouldn't be on the CD itself. Thanks guys, at least I have a new Office type program again now.

Did your buddy ever install it? You could pull the product key from his install

No, he was just taking the case to keep disc 3 of Band of Brothers in. I kept the disc. Then he lost the DVD and my Microsoft Office case like a big dummy.
