Win records, team composition, stats, fatigue.. all meaningless. Flames continue to stay competitive up to the deadline, sucking us in for a 4th straight year and preventing the team from deciding to liquidate valuable assets for futures.
The Flames are in the midst of a huge stretch of games. If they turn it around, they aren't that far out. If they can't win.... well they are only 2 points out of last in the league right now....
JermainFranklin @TSNJFranklin The practice started with 3 goalies and now there are just 2. Danny Taylor is no longer on the ice #FlamesKiprusoff may be ready
That sounds like Kiprusoff will be starting tonight. There'll probably be a tweet soon about it so we know for sure, but if Taylor didn't practice, I'd think Kipper would be good to go tonight.

There are a couple things counting against the Flames in this one:
1. They have unfortunately failed in every attempt to get past the .500 points percentage this year (I won't say "above 500" hockey, because it's not strictly true when you have actually lost 4 more games than you've won);
2. I have yet to witness a win in person this year and I am going to the game.
It's hilarious. I send family members in my stead, and they win. But as soon as I show up, they lose and usually look bad doing so.

nice to see pictures of gelly, sandbox and rhetro all wearing hockey equipment......
tonights game features a couple of the hottset teams in the league, too close to call, but something has to give......i'll go out on a limb and say the team that scores the most goals, wins!!!
Normally I would predict a loss given the circumstances:
-chance to go over .500
-playing the Sharks
-certain Shark players in a slump
However...with Kipper potentially returning I think we can finally get over that .500 hump. A rested, motivated Kipper is the BEST thing for this team right now. I don't think he will disappoint tonight, I have faith in him. Also, Havlat was injured this week and hopefully he is out.
3-0 Flames!!!

If nothing else this should be an entertaining game to watch. If kipper is at the form he was the couple games prior to his injury than this games in the bag. Flames have been firing on all cylinders of late and if we can keep the goals against to 3 or less than we are over .500.
Also can we put the talks to rest about a record of 9-8-4 not being over .500? We are talking about points which is the only thing that matters when you want to make the playoffs. If OT losses count as regular losses to you than by that standard the Canucks are playing .500 hockey..
