When Usain Bolt runs through 100m he can win one medal, when Phelps swims the 100m he can win the 100m free style, back stroke, breast stroke and butterfly.
Four potential medal to one.
Not so mention swimming even has a 50m meter event.
If Canada wants to do better at the Olympics just focus on the pool. Put up world class facilities in Toronto and Vancouver and focus on potential top athletes and we could double our medal count.
Not only focus on the pool but focus on freestyle only. Freestyle has races at every distance plus it's own relays.
The fact that Hayden was the first Canadian to make a 100m freestyle final in 52 years tells you all that is wrong with Swim Canada.

What channel(s) are people watching most of the time?
I'm online alot on ctvolympics.ca because I have found the tv coverage poor. Plus cool stuff is online like ping pong, fencing and shooting. The world feeds have no commentary which is nice
Way too many commercials on CTV and TSN. Sportsnet has been useless. What's the point of having sportsnet when they just show what CTV showed 15 minutes ago? While GB-Korea was going on today, Sportsnet was showing tape-delayed volleyball.

Dick Pound was on the radio the other day (I think McCown's show?) and said pretty much the exact same thing. He seemed rather irritated that Canada has had such poor results in freestyle events, he actually seemed a bit mad about the whole situation.
Interestingly enough, that swimmer who 52 years ago made the 100m final? Dick Pound.

I've been basically using James Duthie's twitter account to find out times when Canadians are competing. Why this information isn't easily found on CTV's site is beyond me. Just put all times in a special page for Canadian athletes in EST and we can figure it out from there.
