Wasn't Vancouver's goaltending tandem Weeks and MacLean at the time? LOL, Vancouver will NEVER have good goaltending. They are like Philly, without the Lindbergh.

Wait what? They have good goaltending right now. That Jennings thing in 2011?
I think that it just shows that Canuck fans have short memories when they are running out of town the best goaltender that the team has ever had by a long shot. The years of Burke, Snow, Irbe, Essensa, Cloutier, Hedberg, Hirsch, Weekes, Auld and Potvin all having played sizeable roles on the team make me think that Luongo isn't bad at all.

According to The Sun, the dispute between Messier and the Canucks was regarding deferred money he felt was owed to him and the newspaper added that Messier had a clause in his contract that would compensate him if the franchise's value increased over the life of his contract.
Is such a clause still possible under the current CBA?
I don't find it fascinating. He helped lead the charge for the greatest team that ever played and took the bull by the horns. He is one of the greatest leaders.

there's about 8 mistakes in 25 words, that's tough to do
Philly has had great goaltending, Canucks goaltending has been top 10 at worst since the lockout every year
Messier is hated because all he cared about in Vancouver was getting paid, his effort level was minimal, he basically demanded to play the most minutes and he played them at a leisurely pace
the whole Linden fiasco (which as others have said basically turned in to Sedin/Luongo so it did help the team) did not go over well at all
I must have missed the part where they caught the Sedins and Luongo in the riot, and that they were "thiefs". That, or I missed the part where rioters were diving and cheating somehow.
Seriously, the way some of you speak of other Canadian cities over sports is despicable, and completely unpatriotic. It makes not even want to be a Flames fan when I hear half of the people here grossly paint cities likes Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto, and Monreal simply because you hate their hockey teams. Then I remember that most Flames fans aren't like that. Some of them actually have some dignity, and, like Darryl Sutter has shown, knows when to differentiate hockey and the fact that we're all Canadians.
Honestly, you speak like you live outside of Canada. It's a shame.

We don't have to take cities that burn themselves down over sports under the great patriotic wing. Dry your tears buttercup. I can love my country independently of loving all of its cities.

I can't speak for the poster you quoted, but I don't think he meant each of those players as well as all Canuck fans are all of those things.
For example, Luongo's huge pads make him a cheater. He's also a diver. The Sedins are undoubtedly divers. They may not have stolen anything that we know of but several of those terms are shoes that fit several of those players etc.
As for your crying about the city of Vancouver, it's a beautiful city indeed. The problem with it, is it's full of dee-bag Canuck fans.
Wait, Luongo is using illegal equipment? And this is like... a well known fact? Why hasn't anyone brought this to the league's attention? Why aren't the Canucks given penalties on a regular basis for this? Could it be because it's bull####?
