COP help the Electric Vibe Fest yesterday. Basically an outdoor dubstep fest from 10am - 11pm.
Got numerous phone calls of people complaining....demanding we turn down the volume because they 'cant hear their TV over the bass'. It is obvious that the event wont be turned down, so why even call to complain. Waste of your time and mine.

Dubstep is a fairly large gear grinder. Bass drops =/= music.
Well it may not be a summons, but there is more social pressure to attend than say a wing night. Fortunately for me, I like wedding receptions, although the ceremonies, speeches and slideshows are always insanely boring for attendees and should be kept as brief as possible.

This so called dubstep is monstrous crap. I seen guy on the tube that wears a ####ing glass Mickey mouse helmet. Who the #### wears that? It's just noise. Kind of sounds like a gang of cats fighting.

If you're talking about Deadmau5, that's not dubstep.

Well your opinion grinds my gears... people should just accept the fact that a lot of people prefer different kinds of music therefore it shouldn't make one type of genre 'better' than the other.

Along the same lines you know what GMG, people who complain about other people's gear grinders.
Isnt this the point of the thread. Someone posts a gear grinder then the crowd decides whether its valid or whether the grindie is just being unreasonable.

Meh people complain about music from folk fest in this city. Outdoor festivals/concerts in this Calgary simply don't do well. McMahon basically banned outdoor shows for roughly 30 years do to local complaints, COP is impossible to get to & has no parking to boot. Race City Speedway is no more. I think Fort Calgary is the only big outdoor venue that seems to have skirted some of those issues, but I have no idea what the cost or capacity is.
Secondly, even for those who enjoy dubstep, there's a difference big between hearing the full spectrum of sound & nothing but the low end bass. The same could be said of rock music, I enjoy Motorhead, but if my neighbours were blasting it and all I was getting was the bass I'd complain to.

I didn't bust anyone's balls for liking the gang of cats fighting music. I just said that it is terrible garbage that can't hold a stone to music of old, that's all.
