Today we find out if this team wants to make it to the playoffs, or if they have packed it in. 3-1 if they show heart and determination, 3-2 Wild if Iggy and Olli are invisible again.

If the team doesn't band together and go to war, winning a crucial game, then I think we're done. They need to dominate every area of the ice, or at least that should be the mindset. Take it to them, no mercy!
That being said, 4-0 Flames, Stajan x2, Iggy, Giordano.

Most Wild fans I know would prefer the team end up losing the rest of their games at this point. This is the most apathetic I've ever seen Wild fans.
Koivu is playing tonight, having missed 15 games after he came back too soon from a separated shoulder and re-injured himself. Meh.
Harding will start I think, having shutout the Nux on Monday.
Our blueline is inexperienced.
Our forwards are pathetically lacking in offensive skill (even with Koivu in - now you have to defend one line instead of no lines like last game).
To say we're a fragile team, well I think they're beyond fragile. They've been trotting out the "play for pride" line for a long, long time at this point. It has to wear thin.
I'm just watching now and going to enjoy every minute of what is left in the Flames' season. After these last few games, hockey is basically done for me and then we have to wait for another new season to begin. The great thing about a new season is hope. But for now, we've got a few games left to just enjoy watching hockey.

Crap during the 3rd period last game against the Avs, i mentioned on the Game Thread that I sure miss Butler (because of Babchuk's soft play). Looks like my wish came true because Butler will be playing for the Flames tonight unfortunately with the expense of Sarich, who I thought has been our best defenseman the last few games. Sarich is home in Calgary with an upper body injury after that collision with David Jones in OT.
I don't like being negative, but after the last week, I'm just going to enjoy the game and be ready for the loss. If they win and exceed my expectations, great! If not, at least it's not a surprise.
Maher just mentioned that Brodie and Cammalleri aren't even close to returning. So basically our current squad is the one we're going to have to sink or swim with, and if we make it, hopefully we'll get some guys back for the 1st round.
I think we'll beat the Wild today, but it'll be close...3-1 Flames with an empty net.
