Glad there's some on-ice action to discuss again after the past 4-5 days. The team needs to find its game again and in a hurry. Hopefully it starts with a convincing regulation win tonight.
Give us hope with a 4 game winning streak or something..
The Flames really need to go on a 4-6 game winning streak just to make ground on the Stars. Lose this game and the winning streak they will need simply gets longer and more unattainable.
The word is out that the Flames owners blocked any trades on "trade deadline day"
If this is true - the Flames fans should boycott the home games until the owners
give Jay Fiester the power to trade whoever he wants.

Is that so? This sounds like way too easy of a false rumour to start. While definately something I wouldn't put past ownership this type of move would be meddling to the extreme. I know if I was Feaster and this was the case I would resign.

I can't believe this, if this happened Feaster and Weisbrod should have quit immediately.
Well I figured out why Bouwmeester hasn't produced offensively with the Flames....his eyes are closed when shooting the puck!
These next two games are monstrous. Having said that, I really hope we either win both, or lose both in regulation. Sick of being within closing distance of the playoffs.
Big game for Irving if he does indeed start tomorrow too.

It's likely that it was not a direct order from ownership, but when ownership's mandate is "make the playoffs' and you are only 1 point back of a playoff spot it would be hard to justify "selling" to your bosses.
There is really no doubt in my mind that Feaster would have prefered to sell this trade deadline, but after talking things over with his bosses they probably told him to do what gave them the best opportunity to make the playoffs, without really hurting the team long term.
It may be a "conspiracy theorist" type of though but you usually don't go from saying you will be a seller, then the team lays another egg, but then only 48 hours later you say you are a buyer without some outside influence.

I don't think that it was so much that the owners blocked any trades, but I heard from a guy on my soccer team, (who's friends with one of the owners), that a trade was never going to be made and that Feaster's claim was simply a scare tactic. Whether or not they were "blocking" a trade, I don't think so. They knew as well as we did that there was nothing really to offer from our side.

We're two layers deep now. Do we need to go deeper?
