They are both virtually the same age.

MacArthur is a little taller while Dawes is a little heavier.

They have both played nearly the same amount NHL games, with virtually the same amount of goals, assists and points.

They both have potential to become 20-30 goal scorers.....or pretty much have equal upside.

I don't get it, unless you are a Tiger fan and have a soft spot for Clarke...

I'm with those that don't see a single hockey move related topic remotely associated with Darryl Sutter in Buffalo.

I know fans love transactions but this is a huge reach.

I knew there was likely nothing to this, but thought it would be an interesting discussion, which it has proved to be. I 100% agree with you - we fans love to talk/fantasize about deals and that was the spirit in which I made the thread

That was me - It was my clandestine way of showing the light-hearted intent of this thread. I knew some people would see it as such and that others would get upset with the thread. I just thought the speculations that could come out of a thread like this would be interesting - and they sure were.

Realistically speaking, the GM forum is a good time for GM's to speak to one another informally. I expect D.Sutter would have made the rounds and listened for any opportunities. If there was any trade speculation, it would be from the meetings rather than the Buffalo game, and it would involve other teams not only the Oilers and Sabres

Sutter does what Sutter wants.

Q: Why doesn't Sutter check under his bed for monsters before going to sleep?
A: Because Sutter doesn't sleep.

Simple. Calgary is playing Buffalo on friday. He is scouting them out, looking for any edge Calgary can get and will report to his brother Brent.

There are no trades in the making.
