Sounds as if VanderGulik, Stevenson and Pardy will be re-signed, hopefully along with Nystrom and Vandermeer too.
Tanguay - Langkow - Iginla
Boyd - Lombardi - VanderGulik
Moss - Primeau - Nilson
Nystrom - Peters - Stevenson
Prust
Regehr - Phaneuf
Vandermeer - Sarich
Aucoin - Warrener
Eriksson - Pardy
Pelech - Negrin
Ramholt

what i find interesting is that during training camp, Ramholt and Pardy, as described by Sutter, were pretty much equal on the depth chart. They both had injury call-ups during the season. Now Pardy is thought of as a player, whereas Ramholt has fallen down a few rungs; apparently, even behind Negrin, a guy who has never played a pro game.
as for Pelech, the high praise being tossed towards the 20 yr old 1st year pro should hopefully end further criticism of this first round selection

McGill is a strait shooter. But when your 1st line or best players have a bad shift or two then you sit them for the rest of the game (germyn, stevenson, Kolanos) so on so on and Ramholt makes mistake after mistake and he doesnt miss a shift. That kinda worked on people and that could be the reason why we didnt make the playoffs and lost a million one goal games.

Unfortunately, that's the downside of being a farm team. Winning is secondary to player development. It's part of the reason we wanted Ramholt in North America instead of Swizterland.
The prospects will often be forced to play through bad stretches for developmental purposes while vets will be treated by a different standard.

It's not a full recap of the interview but this blog from Kerr has a few highlights of the conversation.

Thanks for posting that.
The key phrase that stuck out to me regarding McGill's assessment of Pelech was that "the sky's the limit."

Just to let you know Gordon Baldwin is Bigger than Pelech. Hambly isnt under contract with calgary and wont be for a reason.

Considering the level these guys are playing at, I like McGill and the way he runs things. It would be kind of interesting, though, to get feedback from some of the guys as to what it's like playing for him!
(Something I also found interesting....when the guys are on the weekly radio show, they eat during/after the broadcast. When McGill's on (first guest), he's in, does his segment, and leaves. When Scotty's on (the coaches alternate weeks), he sits down when he's done and has dinner with the guys...)
As for Maki, the way I understand it, Finland isn't a certainty....

Could someone explain to me a little about Ramholt?
Here's a guy who was considered one or our top defensive prospects if not hte most NHL ready, he made it up to the big team this season tho didnt get much icetime.
And lately you have Sutter not naming him as one of hte players ready to jump next season, now same thing from McGill, and the Quad City fans seem to have a hate on for him.
Has his development stalled? What exactly is happening?

I like the guy!
He is an offensive dmen and makes some mistakes with the puck thats why people down here dont like him. I dont know why McGill dislikes him he never missed a shift.

Some guys you have to put in the right frame of mind. Others, well you play them until they throw up or stop making mistakes. Ramholts 45 seconds and -1 of NHL glory were probably more profound on his development than the months leading up to it. This coming up year should be better development-wise for Ramholt, otherwise, he'd be better to be shipped off as trade-bait.

It's also worth noting that McGill probably has clued into what the Flames team NEEDS, so his comments may be tempered in that respect.

It may be unfair, but when I think of Ramholt I think of a game in Peoria....where there was a bird in the arena. Instead of concentrating on playing D, Ramholt was skating around watching the bird....
The 7-year-old kid honestly said, "What in heck is he doing?"
Between that and the turnovers he gave up last season that ended up in the back of somebody else's net, I'd say he has a concentration issue.

Maybe when Ramholt was a small boy playing outside in Switzerland he was attacked by a small bird and now he has a phobia?
Di you think about that? I am sure Tim would appreciate some sensitivity on this matter.
sarcasm.
