I wonder if this story will blow up, it's very strange and undermines the entire sport. I don't know what the solution is but it seems like this isn't going away.

I'm actually surprised that we don't hear more of these incidents, to be honest. At the highest levels of tennis, there is no need for match fixing as the players are already making good money. However, at the challenger levels and below, you can definitely see how players could be enticed to throw a match. The real surprise to me here though is that this is an ATP 250 event, a tennis tourney that will have plenty of eyeballs on it especially just prior to the US Open.

Denis and Felix are both up a break in the first set of their matches and appear to be cruising. Fantastic start to qualifying for both.

US Open took their entry lists as of July 17th.
Edit: And I just saw it was answered already.

Im sure this happens more than we want to admit, especially as you said in smaller events. What surprises me is that Dogopolov is actually a good player, he beat Nadal once and gave Novak all he could handle at his very peak. I think the Dog even made it to 13th in the world, and according to the ATP website he has made 6.5 Million in his career.

Nice, both Denis and Felix move on in US Open qualifying (straight set victories for both).

For anyone planning on heading up to Edmonton to see Canada take on India in Davis Cup action:
Single day tickets for Canada’s upcoming Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group play-off tie in Edmonton will go on sale Wednesday August 23. Taking place September 15-17 at Northlands Coliseum, Canada will take on India for the right to stay in the upper echelon of Davis Cup competition in 2018. Tickets will be available for as low as $25.
“The team is looking forward to playing in Edmonton and we really want to use our home court to our advantage,” said Canadian Davis Cup team captain Martin Laurendeau. “We have been a World Group nation for six years now and our goal next month will be to win and earn another chance to play for the Davis Cup title in 2018. We’ll definitely need support from our amazing Canadian fans, and hope to see lots of people out there cheering us on.”

What is everybodys guess for the Davis Cup team? Denis & Milos or do they stick with Vasek? Or go young Denis and Felix? I suppose it depends how deep they all go at the Open

I think they go with Milos and Denis in singles and Vasek and old man Nestor for the doubles.

Tough day yesterday for the Canadian ladies - Genie lost in straight sets to Radwanska in Connecticut and Bianca Andresscu lost a tough three setter in US Open qualifying. Gabriela Dabrowski is still alive in the women's doubles in Connecticut, however.

How cool!
Milos and Denis have been named to the World Team for this fall's Laver Cup. John McEnroe actually used one of his captain's picks to take Denis.
Team Europe is pretty stacked though.
Should be a fun event.

Awesome thanks for posting! Team World is lucky that Novak, Andy, Stanimal are all injured or else Team Europe would have been the greatest Tennis team ever assembled. Would have been 52 Grand Slam wins for Team Europe compared to 0 for Team World lol

Interesting that Krygios was left off the roster given he has been playing extremely well of late.
Has anyone heard when Canada's Davis cup roster will be formally released?

As Meatloaf sang, two out of three ain't bad - Peter Polansky and Francoise Abanda advance in US Open qualifying this morning, unfortunately Brayden Schnur did not.

Good. Him and Tomic are both pieces of crap and will never win anything of significance with their little Trump brain mentalities. They are both an embarrassment to tennis and am surprised they have not been suspended for their self-admitted lack of effort on the court.
